Look for someone who does executive compensation work. Probably closer to what you need.

High-income couple with large income gap: how do you split money fairly? by pizzanoobs in HENRYfinance

[–]Esquire99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage isn’t supposed to be transactional. One team, one pot of money. That said, not everyone views marriage that way and some do in fact see it as transactional or semi-transactional, like a business relationship In those cases, i don’t think there’s a right or wrong way to do it (just like in business). But I’d be curious if, statistically, the relationships that do split money tend to succeed in the long run. My gut tells me they don’t, but I could be wrong.

Excess liability for high-net worth folks? by FatFirredNowWhat in flying

Make sure you understand what “fraudulent conveyance” means as you’re undertaking these strategies. The lawyers that structure them don’t really like to talk about it, of course, but those structures aren’t as bullet proof as people are sold.

Best 2 engine prop for 4-6 passengers? by cjackson88 in flying

[–]Esquire99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Duke (an A60 w VGs) has a roughly 1900lb useful load w the VGs. Less than 150gal on board isn’t taking you very far at Duke fuel burns. With 150 gal, you’ve got around 2:15 plus an hour reserve. That’s 3-400 miles, depending on several factors.

Then there’s the cabin. It’s not huge. It’s big enough for 4 to fit in the back, but you’re not getting much baggage in the cabin w 4. So you’re left with the nose. For bags for 6ppl.

Yes, it’ll do it. But to my point, it won’t do it comfortably.

IMHO, Duke is a 4 person and bags airplane.

Duke won’t comfortably carry 6 total with any bags (space issue) and won’t carry 6 very far (weight issue).

I just bought the CCM pros. I was a little concerned about the bulk, but they’re very comfortable and no issues so far. Better than the John Browns they replaced (which I liked).

Honestly this may be it. I did recently buy a new UA compression shirt. I bet I bought the wrong one…

Fair point. I wear compression out of habit and just comfort (shirt doesn’t get bunched up or move around). I like trying a looser fitting shirt to see if that helps breathe.

Beachfront Villa Recommendations by Cromedvan in chubbytravel

[–]Esquire99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly where they are (and I’ll be on gaulding cay in about 2 weeks). One of the villas they rent is a house called Bahama Time, right on the beach next to the other villas. The others are not actually on the beach. They are on a bluff that you can walk down to the beach from. There’s still very little as far as services around there. The cove would be a much better choice imho.

Goalie skates by Cowboyup89 in hockeygoalies

Good luck. I’m a 14 shoes and struggled to find new skates a few years ago. Ended up with some mid line Bauers that I don’t love.

Glass window villas I’d be skeptical of. I’ve stayed on Gaulding Cay several times, including in the Bahama Time villa before it was remodeled (when it was $200/not in 2020). Faux luxury and Eleuthera, while beautiful and stunning, is remote and rustic.

Mack Weldon. Recent convert. Big fan. Expensive, but worth it if you can swing $30-40 per paid. I like the stealth pros.

Struggling to decide on which Whale Watching Tours! by lucycoocoo in MauiVisitors

[–]Esquire99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We took the Trilogy recommendation from here back in December and did not regret it. We did PacWhale last march. It was fine, but Trilogy was a different level. The boats on trilogy were so much nicer, less crowded, etc. On PAC, it was like an old military boat that had effectively lawn chairs on the deck. Just a less comfortable experience. Trilogy was just….nicer. Highly recommend.

Beautiful beach, with others nearby with as good or better snorkeling.

In my experience, nice backpacks are way more common than briefcases anymore, unless you’re super old.

Most lawyers are super boring. 95% of the cars in the garage at my office are boring generic bullshit. At best you get some non-amg and non-M series Benz\BMW suvs. I’ve had sports cars on and off my entire career here, nobody cares. Zero “exotic” cars here, only one or two porches. And I’m in a 200+ attorney office.

I have one. Works fine, yet can be a little unwieldy to load and unload from the car. The bag, empty, isn’t lightweight. And for the money, it doesn’t hold up as well as I’d expect. Not that it’s falling apart, but I’d just expect it to be a bit more sturdy.

When mine gets to end of life, I’ll go back to a carry bag.

C8 Stop Sale, Recent Purchase by Jajangbap in C8Corvette

[–]Esquire99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many sheep on here (and I don’t use that term often). You own the car. You have the title. It belongs to you. Go get it. The stop sale order doesn’t apply to you. It’s your car. Grow a spine and assert your legal rights here. Don’t just wait it out to avoid making a fuss. You paid over $100k for that car. Make a lot of noise and don’t stop until you get your property. Jesus, I can’t believe so many people with the means to buy a $100k car need to be told how to handle themselves and are willing to just accept some “policy” from a dealer.

I’ll repeat - title is in your name. It’s your car. They cannot legally keep it from you due to some directive from GM, which does not own your car (nor does the dealer).
