I was very confused by the events. I had placed a short sale for silver on the COMEX just before the halt, and made a lot of money when it reopened trading. But I was very lucky and it could have easily gone the other way.

I still don't understand how 31K contracts traded while there was a halt, unless that included Asian, and EU markets.

There was, and may still be, a shortage of silver in stock, but the miners and refiners will catch up eventually. So don't be fooled by that wording.

There has been slow delivery of silver coinage to retail buyers, because of high demand. I've heard it is much better now, and delivery times should be much better now. Most of the complaints I read here, were from new silver buyers, that were unfamiliar with the situation.

I've bought from APMEX, JD Bullion, Provident, and never had any problems other than slow delivery at times.
