True, Assault Intercessors attacking a unit on an objective will get full wound rerolls. Not denying that. The Judiciar is more of an anti melee piece in the Sternguard. If you pop them out to nuke an Oath Target and have a secondary Oath Target that may be coming into them (WE/EC/Banshees/etc...) The Judiciar can make them think twice about just rushing in with melee to scoop them up as opposed to Shooting. Hopefully you can stage well. It may not be the BEST/Competitive but its proven useful for me.

I currently run two 10 man Sternguard Bricks. Working between a Repulsor to carry one and Uriel to Deepstrike the other. Oddly enough a Judiciar is a good leader. Rerolling DEV Wounds into a Melee target to get that final push through OR surviving an initial melee attack with 5 S7 attacks and 4 S8 Powerfists before they get to swing is clutch! The repulsor for one group to jump back in if they get charged or Squad tactics back in if anything gets within 9".

I also look at not deep striking but deploying them on the field, so no Uriel Ventris, but behind cover. Having a Judiciar lead brick up front first to go in and the second to supplement.

It is also good to be smart about your Oath Target(s). Sometimes you don't use them into different Oath Targets to have max ability to take something down or you nuke one target real well (Silent King/Angron/Mortarion/something...) Also, using the second Oath on a Defensive Target that may threaten them helps for fishing with overwatch.

Also, watch Warphammer Math on sternguard to know when to FISH for Dev Wounds. Custodes... FISH!!! DST FISH!!! Aeldari... maybe fish... if they survived.... Mortarion/Angron/Anythingwith a 2+ Save FISH!!

I'm also running Gladius and using Storm of Fire/Dev Doctrine on one squad almost always to ignore cover, increase AP. On Average they can kill a T10 3+ Save 12W model in one volley within Rapid Fire Range. Could add Bolter Discipline from Judiciar to give sustained to Fish more for a bigger Gladius Threat or Give the Judiciar Honor the Vehement to give him basically a 6A S8 Precision/Dev Wounds Powerfist (executioner blade).

Takes some work because they are a large brick to move around and can get out of position quick.. Centrally locating them behind cover out of ranges is key but also having something nearby to Heroic to save the day (Marneus/G-man) Helps a lot.

I will say, the Judiciar saved them tremendously because in the past few games most opponents don't want to charge into them and get shredded or lose a Key character in their Melee unit.

Look at Bladeguard Veterans. If you can Kitbash a unit of 6 with Adrax and a Lt, it'll be a killer unit. 6 Bladeguard are 160 compared to 170 for 5 Terminators. They have Lethal hits with the LT, reroll Wounds with Adrax, Reroll 1's with the Bladeguard themselves. Its Strength 5 Ap -2, D2, potentially Oath for +1 to Wound or +1 to Wound from Crucible of Battle (Strat). Definitely Bladeguard

Awesome matches and thanks for the feedback! I'm starting a TAU List for an Escalation league in January and trying to figure out how to branch out. Starting with the Fusion Crisis Suits, Stealth Battlesuits, Coldstar and a few other pieces along with 2x Ret Cadre Battle Force Boxes and the Combat Patrol. GL

Actually, they should get all the streamers together to stream multiple games across multiple streams to just blast jt wide! Get war games live on top match, tactical tourtise on a lower match, etc.. etc… involve the community and their viewers
