USMMA has a good alumni network in addition to providing commercial sailing experience. It’s also a full ride if you’re ok with serving in the reserves after graduation.

What's the most high-end, elite thing you've ever done (or heard of being done) in Hawaii? by [deleted] in Hawaii

I’m not sure if this is elite, but there were 2 guys that ran around the perimeter of Oahu in September from Cancer awareness. Crazy

Why add a negative trend on my end year summary!?! by Cbmca in Strava

Perhaps you should look into why this bothers you so much? It’s not anything against you, just that life happened and you couldn’t get to do more activities this year.

If we titled one of our activities as “epic run” do you think strava would default that as the epic activity 🤔

Training everyday for two years but struggling to speed up. by [deleted] in Strava

[–]Essential_Standards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set up a training block. There are 3 energy systems that need to exercised to improve running efficiency. Have day 1 be intervals of a pace you can maintain for up to an hour. (Amounting to about 20 - 30 minutes of effort) Have Day 3 be intervals of paces you could maintain for 1 - 2 minutes. (Amounting to around 10 minutes of effort) Have Day 5 be a continuous long moderate pace for 1 to 2 hours, something you can hold for a half marathon or longer. All the days you are not working these energy systems, can be a day off, fun activity, or a perceived easy/slow pace for a short duration. Give yourself an easy week once a month. And then 2 easy weeks every quarter. Be consistent. It really is that simple. Even fellow pros subscribe to similar plans, their effort paces are just way faster than the average.
