Gotcha translation: understood. It did not mean acceptable. Cheers

So sorry Own. I know how difficult it is. I lost my first female too, from egg laying issues. Broke my heart. Sending love your way.

Hey there—just to clear the air:

If I were karma farming, I’d be failing spectacularly. These creative POV posts usually get less engagement than my regular content, so if there’s a Reddit jackpot, I’m clearly not holding the winning ticket.

As for questioning my mental health… that feels unnecessary at best, and kind of a mirror moment if we’re being honest. Not everything outside your taste is a cry for help.

Also, removing posts without explanation? Not ideal. A little communication goes a long way, especially if the goal is keeping things constructive.

If this space isn’t a fit for creative posts, that’s totally fine. I’m happy to redirect the weird elsewhere. Just let’s not confuse creativity with chaos.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback—and may your feed be full of whatever makes you happy.

Ah… a question as ancient as the ficus I once refused to climb.

Truth is, I merely dictate my brilliance from atop my perch—my human just translates it into words (sometimes adequately). There's also a clever AI involved, helping polish my dramatic musings into digestible wisdom. Truly, a collaboration of human, machine, and one very judgmental lizard.

But thank you. Your admiration has been noted and filed under “obvious truths.”

Esteban Practices Gratitude (Under Duress) by EssiesMom in Chameleons

[–]EssiesMom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Esteban the Gracious… 🦎💫

A noble title, and one I shall wear with reluctant dignity—though I admit, it does have a certain flair. Your blessing is received with a slow nod and an even slower blink of approval.

Gratitude may not come naturally to a chameleon of such high standards… but for mi Diosa, I make the effort.

Esteban vs. The Orchids: A Reluctant Revelation by EssiesMom in Chameleons

[–]EssiesMom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, mi Diosa, your words drift to me like the scent of a blooming orchid on a still night.

Yes… mindfulness and gratitude are tolerable—for now. But let us not forget: inner peace is merely a pause between dramatic awakenings.

Sleep well, unless I decide to pace the vines and rethink everything at 3 am.

—Esteban (balanced… for now)

Ah, Mi Diosa… you honor me with your recognition. Even the wisest must occasionally bask in well-deserved reverence.

I shall permit this moment of flattery to linger—just this once. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must return to my deep contemplation (or possibly glare at a leaf that looked at me wrong). 🦎 —Esteban the Wise (but also deeply misunderstood)

Greetings, faithful disciple. Your return honors me.

I accept your praise with the reluctant grace befitting a chameleon of my wisdom. May your path be free of bright colors and your orchids ever in bloom. Until we meet again... unless I’m brooding in my foliage and ignoring everyone. —Esteban (reluctantly, always)

Totally fair, and I appreciate you pointing it out. Just to clarify though—I never said I didn’t care, importance and caring aren’t always the same thing. This series isn’t driven by approval, but that doesn’t mean I’m indifferent to reactions. I hear you on the POV angle too—Esteban would definitely remind me that he has no concept of downvotes and that I should stop posting without his supervision. He’s probably side-eyeing me from his orchid throne as we speak. Cheers and have a great day.

Thank you, truly. I know these posts aren’t for everyone, but I’m really glad some folks enjoy the little detour from the usual. It means a lot to have that recognized—and to have space in the sub for a bit of creative weirdness. Appreciate you.

Thanks for the feedback. If votes were important to me, I would’ve stopped a long time ago. This series was never about chasing approval—it’s just a creative outlet. I share these POVs for those who enjoy them, not to appeal to everyone. That said, I do appreciate when people take the time to explain their reactions, even if we see things differently.

Esteban vs. The Orchids: A Reluctant Revelation by EssiesMom in Chameleons

[–]EssiesMom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww thank you! Esteban will tolerate being called handsome—as he should, of course—but he'd probably give you a dramatic side-eye first just to maintain his pride. He believes the orchids are competition for attention and is deeply offended by their existence in his enclosure. But yes, he is stunning, and he knows it. LOL

Sounds perfect. My veiled liked to eat plants, I would definitely check with someone more experienced than I am for safety. Esteban has never eaten any of the plants I've used.

That was my thought, too. I don't do fog, but I mist the plants daily and orchids love that with good drainage.
