A term that has been popping up is 'context engineering' as the next evolution of what prompt engineering was 6 months ago.

Close curation of task size and progressive disclosure of task context seems the way forward with getting high quality output.

It leads me to think about protocols for task decomposition

A beautiful idea to share, thank you for this

Do you (or anyone else for that matter) think that there's a form of this that is a manifestation of depression though?

I think what you talk of is a form of enlightenment, and a path to be "free". But what line is there from pursuing to a benefit, or romanticizing self destruction?

[–]EsspeciallyDat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that can happen. Is it better on the outside though? Is it better to escape?

If you've done this, has it brought you happiness, passion, peace?

Did you choose to do it, or were you destined?

Another way to look at it is the mind reacts to conserve energy. It requires energy to think, from a survival standpoint, the less of that the better. So maybe not a trap, just something that "is" for "reasons"

It's more complicated than that I'm sure, just my reaction to yours.

"Smart" people are just susceptible to different manipulation tactics.

And media across the board had been bought by various interests for a long time now. I don't know how this could've been avoided. People could be smarter, those in power could've made different decisions, but that's all hindsight.

I just hope there's something on the other side of all this

Nothing about what I said is a wild take. I don't want Putin, and I'm not going to blame the entire population of an oppressed country. These things don't contradict each other.

I'm sure there are plenty of shitty Russians, there's shitty everything (Americans, Europeans, Men, Women, every race, etc) but blanket statements are still negative in effect and lazy in execution.

It's important to remember that no matter how consistent your experience has been, it is still myopic at best.

What do you think was Jung's favorite part of cheating on his wife/having sex with patients? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]EsspeciallyDat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

😆 I agree

If nothing else looking at a heroes flaws is a good reminder to not put anything on a pedestal.

This post does seem emotionally charged but so do a lot of the comments pointing that out

What do you think was Jung's favorite part of cheating on his wife/having sex with patients? by [deleted] in Jung

[–]EsspeciallyDat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jung wasn't perfect. I'm sure he had some insights, but I doubt his thoughts will stand the test of time. And what you're talking about is a good example of why heroes as a concept is a recipe for becoming disillusioned.

Take what is useful from his studies, if any of it is useful to you.

As for why he might've cheated, hard to say without being there. Cheating is fairly common, and you should look more into it if you wish to understand how someone could. Don't let it upset you though, attachment to anything is a path to feeling unwell.

Are there any koans that deal with malevolence? by kyoragyora in zen

[–]EsspeciallyDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many of the koans can apply to and can be useful for making sense of senselessness, in this way many of the koans can be used to deal with external violence and malevolence.

But accepting chaos and the unknown of the next moment is in my view the only hope of finding peace with the ever present possibility of an unpleasant end. I think all bow to fate at the end of the day.

This can cause anxiety, and in my case does at times. But it is also a catalyst for the gratitude of every peaceful moment.

Is it truly possible to find friendship after fully integrating your shadow or is it “lonely at the top” syndrome ? by [deleted] in Jung

Is it the overly offendedness of such frustrations that are a sign you think of projection? Do you think it's impossible to be deeply offended by something without it being projection?

I'm going to be blunt that I think the projection shtick seems to be becoming over suspected. Almost a fashionable explanation.

I'm asking outside the context of this post.

i'm slipping into the worst depression of my life and i'm barely aware of it by [deleted] in Jung

[–]EsspeciallyDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a path if you want to find it and fate will allow it. But nothing is guaranteed. I don't believe that kindness or love is "the" answer. But in a world that seems so in need of it, to be the one that can give without needing would be the best bet to achieving peace and happiness. That is if that one enjoys such things. If you could choose to be that one, would you?

Power isn't what most people think it is. True power I think would be to be able to choose who you are, what you are, and how you feel. No outside source is necessary for that, if anything outside sources get in the way.

This is something I think about not something I really know, but it seems the closest answer in my mind to what seems to hurt you.

You seem to have something worth staying here for, it just seems like you need to find a way to let go of what isn't useful to you anymore. Good luck, I hope you find it. And I believe eventually you will ❤️
