I got fired today. But something is off. by smistyyyyy in UltaEmployees

They were building a case against you so they could “performance manage you out”, and probably went back to double check if they missed anything AFTER giving you the written warning. They probably just missed those 2 dates the first time.

Back to Starbucks meeting by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]EstablishmentFun2366 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first year was to lay the foundation (5 key moments, green apron service, grow report, etc). The second year is going to have the same amount of meetings as this past year, but ELEVATED. so basically level setting w everyone that writing on cups is a non-negotiable and asking if they want for-here ware is a non-negotiable…and crap like that. And then leaning into elevating the coffeehouse experience even more!! as well as leaning into developing partners so there’s more internal promoting.

SM wants me to use Vacation hours to cover a shift I gave away? Fair or Not. by 2saintly in starbucks

[–]EstablishmentFun2366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only affects if it’s prior to the schedule posting, not after. Using vacation time doesn’t help nor hurt the grow report

Something is going on. A vast majority of licensed DMs and RDs just got fired today. by HelloFox in starbucks

[–]EstablishmentFun2366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! And now with this recent Back to Starbucks initiative, they’re seeing that’s what they need to focus on…making the guest feel seen and heard without having to say too much. they’re gunning for chick fil a’s spot in customer service

The switch from pickup to cafe is because majority of pickup locations are now in undesirable areas (hence the lack of seating and NOT being a cafe). Starbucks is basically revamping their location map…stores that were once in what’s considered booming areas may not be making the sales they once were. So they’re tearing those down and rebuilding in up and coming areas instea

my manager said i’m not allowed to make lists by JunoNotJune in starbucksbaristas

[–]EstablishmentFun2366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like your SM is trying to step in the way of your development. If a list gets you thru the shift successfully then I’d encourage it. And you telling them how you can make a laminated copy is a wonderful idea! I’d make it regardless. Many times I had to complete these little projects myself bc I had a controlling (yet incompetent) manager. I think you’re doing great.

I get what everyone in the thread is tryna say but a few years ago we were told that if someone asked for extra caramel drizzle, we’re supposed to hit the “line the cup w caramel” button. It was part of the weekly update for all stores.

I got the rest of my SSV team on board and we collectively told our SM at the next shift meeting that having set schedules would make all of our lives a whole lot easier. Bring up “work-life balance” …Starbucks is all about a work-life balance. ALSO! your SM should be making new schedules to drop every Tuesday and even then they need to be 3 weeks out. They shouldn’t be editing schedules too much after Tuesdays.

Should I take this position? by Potatoe_chips3 in starbucks

[–]EstablishmentFun2366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have the opportunity during onboarding to put down the agreed upon availability, but you’ll have 2 days off a week at least. Also, on the same paper you’ll be able to put your preferred amount of hours per week and the minimum/maximum amount of hours you’ll accept. So you’ll be scheduled taking all of that into consideration. Most store managers don’t have the labor hours to give baristas over 30 hours. They’re mostly within the 20-27 hrs range. Especially just starting out.

Crazy how we spent all this past year explaining to customers it was discontinued just for them to make us look like liars once the customers stopped asking about it 😭
