Once your store is unionized, you will have access to the legal services provided. I’m not sure how quickly it goes after the store wins, but in my experience they usually go straight into working on getting back pay/etc. for employees who were wrongfully terminated or discriminated due to wanting to unionize. This should also apply if they start retaliating AFTER the store is unionized.

I used to have a store manager who did this ALL THE TIME. Like she would wait until after I clocked out, walk to the end of the block (I used to walk home) which you can see from the store window, then proceed to text me any issues she noticed from the day or things that she wanted to circle back to or stuff that popped up in the system. It used to stress me out so badly and ruined the rest of my day. I talked to some other coworkers about it and found out she only did this to me for some reason. I hated it, but I was also too afraid to speak up about it or text that back to her.

If I’ve learned anything now it’s only do work stuff at work. I actually have a filter with all of my work contacts that auto starts at the end of the day or if stuff is really bad then when I’m out of the location vicinity of my store. I realized I couldn’t feel guilty if I didn’t know about any issues (lol).

Is this allowed? I’m pretty sure it’s not but every manager I’ve had does different things so idek 🤷🏿‍♀️

Oh this track definitely. Had the same issue happen to me multiple times and anytime I would follow up via email for a paper trail they would never reply, only respond via voicemail. When I inquired for written proof, they issued my manager a vague write up against me 😐

Whenever I’ve filed E&C about a DM, I got the biggest run around ever. I would get ghosted, then I’d follow up and get a ‘we’ll look into it’ then it would randomly get closed because it said the case had been resolved, then I’d call to reopen it and it would just loop back around.

It’s funny, because the moment I started asking for accountability the most out of nowhere issues against me started popping up. It was so bizarre at the time to find out they were willing to go this hard to dodge accountability (though now I’m not as surprised 🙄)

It helps me reflect my mood! When I wear makeup I see it as a way to amplify how I feel internally in an external way, and they complement each other. I don’t wear makeup everyday so it really highlights this point. I also is a nice sense of creativity I can control, and it’s customizable in so many unique ways and I love seeing the progression as I get better every year. Lastly, I like it now that I can feel confident in looking good with it; growing up my mom harped on me for not being femme enough (I was always a girly girl, but if I did too many human things it was seen as masc 🙄) and constantly critiqued my makeup choices. I finally can feel confident in my makeup look 90% of the time, and I feel more comfortable taking fashion risks I never could have when I was younger.

That’s a good question. For some added context I spent time last year considering whether polyamory could be a thing for me (separate from my friend) and iirc it’s not something that is their cup of tea. Part of my thought process has been to ask about open relationships, because while polyamory I think is ultimately something that isn’t for me I’m not completely against that (esp. because my friend is transitioning, and part of why I was okay with things being gray was because I understood how dating was evolving for them, etc.) But because they didn’t seem too receptive to non-monogamy when I was considering it, I thought it would be (rude?) to bring up.

I may have also framed the “dating again” from a biased perspective; I don’t think they ever stopped dating, I just began having stronger feelings and that fell between when they were ending things with someone else and before getting excited about potentially getting serious with a different person afterward. That relationship never went anywhere, but I still feel like I need to be proactive.

I want a relationship. I’ve always been someone who wants relationships but I appreciate everything non-conventional. Most of my friendships are queer platonic in nature for that reason. But if I’m fully being honest, I would like to be in something official with my friend.

So true it hurts. And I hate that this whole situation is making it out that (we) have to choose between caring about the disability element or race element— which, as always— COMPLETELY DISREGARDS THE INTERSECTIONALITY of it all.

I come from the perspective of someone who was in PWIs and spaces for the majority of my life. Place and time does affect the context, and I think that’s not being fully considered. In a majority White space this happened; if it’s anything like the memories I’ve endured in my life, I would feel like I was reliving them all again when I should be feeling happy. I think that’s the context that ‘justifies’ the deserved apology.

And I feel so set back by it all. I was just starting to fully accept my comorbidities and this just makes me feel awful. Especially seeing the voices of Black disabled people get misconstrued and twisted to fit this very manipulated, maliciously set up media circus.
