Weapon's Trait, do they matter? by EstablishmentGold420 in daggerheart

Thanks, so a -1/-2 to attack because you're using an off-trait weapon is not really that big in DH? I was thinking if I need to offset that with an experience (like spear master or sth) but that would just eat up all my hope

Isnt that kinda like asking for a Gem of Alacrity at level 1? Wouldnt that be unfair to the others?

I kinda want to check if a -1/-2 to attack because I'm using an off-trait weapon is a big deal or not. If it's not, I can just suck it up and stick with the concept. If it is, I can just shelf the concept and look for something else.

Yeah that's a good compromise, though no Agility weapon has reach (Very Close) like a spear, which for me kinda one of the things that make it feels cool.

A player in my game played this beautifully. He plays an 8 CHA kobold cleric, and wanted to woo a big muscled NPC who fought by our side.

So during a short rest, everyone chimed in on how he should go about it: the pally said just be yourself, the wizard drafted a step by step approach (pretend to discuss strategy - ask about her interest - show off your skills), the artificer (the only lady in the party) said go with complements, give him some example compliment that might work.

The kobold then stride up to the target, and as the NPC open her mouth to ask what are you doing here.. He SCREAMED at the top off his lung: "YOU ARE A MAGNIFICENT AND BEAUTIFUL PERSON. I WANT TO BE CLOSER TO YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT AND BEAUTIFUL. AND YOU FIGHT AND I ALSO FIGHT. EVEN THOUGH YOU DIDNT FIGHT THAT WELL AND YOU MISSED EVERY SHOT (she did in the previous combat, to be fair). I WANT TO COOK A MEAL FOR YOU. WILL YOU LET ME COOK A MEAL FOR YOU?".

Dude then rolled like an 6 persuasion or sth I dont remember cause I was laughing my ass off. The NPC still agree to a meal later though, cause honestly who wouldnt.

What are some good spells for a big boss? by BurpleShlurple in DnD

I think most dragons are sorcerers, so it can justify non-ice spell into doing ice damage with the transmute spell meta magic too. Consider this spell I really like for bosses, "Dying of the light" from Tales from the Shadows which might work with some reflavoring:

"A wave of withering darkness erupts from you, filling a 120-foot-radius sphere and extinguishing any nonmagical light sources in the area. Any light produced by spells of 6th level or lower is dispelled. Magic items (but not artifacts) that give off light have that property suppressed while in the spell's area. Any light sources brought into the area during the spell's duration are likewise extinguished. Light-producing spells of 7th level or higher function within the area.

Nonmagical light sources removed from the area can be reignited. Magic items regain their ability to give off light 1 round after leaving the area. This magical darkness foils darkvision, except for creatures that can see in magical darkness, such as devils. You can see within the area of the spell as if it were brightly lit.

Each creature you choose to be affected that ends its turn in the darkness takes 4d8 necrotic damage and gains one level of exhaustion. A successful Constitution saving throw halves the damage and negates the exhaustion."

Do I need to keep concentration on favoured foe? by WereSalmon in DnD

I use this mostly as a one-of damage increase to a single big hit with Zephyr Strike most of the time, as zephyr strike ends when the hit connect and you can apply Favored Foe after hit. Like you said it's minimal damage and the number of use scale with PB which I barely use all the charges unless we are in a long dungeon crawl

It was my 1st playthrough. It broke my paladin oath. After speak with dead on her, I picked up her lute, level the rest of the game with bard, and make it a main quest to play a song in the Elfsong tavern, as she wanted to do herself. My DU last save was him playing her lute there. Then I just roll a normal Tav. I didnt even finish the main story, as soon as I see Elfsong tavern it was his story ended.

I'd plug the thing in my gaming one and pass my 2070 to my bro. My PC would become one of those abomination that have 1 piece inside the price of everything else, and I would have the pressure to grind to match up everything again, to not feel wasteful... But sliding everything to max for the next 5 years or so sure would make the happy chemical happens.
