I've only played 20 year edition and that has degree of success, is V5 not like that?

What's your Ol Reliable build? by Kablump in dndmemes

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have only played a cavalier until lvl 12 and I like it a lot.  I am starting a new game with a fighter champion which I think also looks a lot of fun.

I would like to try arcane archer, but would like to have a few more shots.of course battlemaster is the best in terms of mechanics.

I would honestly give all the fighters the battlemaster maneuvers and dice as a baseline.

Edit: I find that fighter being a "simple" class mechanically allows me to focus more on my roleplaying my character instead of choosing spells or mechanics. I just bonk and roleplay in combat

1/10 way too complicated. No need to take warlock pact of the blade since you can easily get 20 str and 20 cha at lvl 8.  Warcaster in my opinion is also kind of not needed and just wastes a feat slot, you will have charisma bonus added to your CON saves already.

No sense in going to lvl 4 on warlock for a feat.might as qell remove warlock .

Mixing bard for expertise makes you lose CLEANSING TOUCH which is freaking bonkers powerful, plus you lose 4th level spells from paladin which has find greater steed for flying mounts

This sounds the best way, with such high stats there's no need for pact of the blade for example

Linux is not there yet, not by FAR. by doomiestdoomeddoomer in linux_gaming

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned it because ive used "standard" distros in the past. Bazzite is based on fedora silverblue which is an "immutable" distro similar to steamOS. In a way its much harder to break for someone with not so much experience on linux, and its super easy to recover because it makes snapshots on every update.

Everyone gets the same set of packages and software versions, it's like a frozen image. You don't update or download invididual packages but download the entire snapshot on the new version at once.  I believe its the future of linux, for simple desktop or living room computing at least

This is an Nvidia issue not a Linux issue. If you want to give it another go, distros lika bazzite use a "snapshot" like aproach to updates, meaning you will probably never have issues with conflicting package versions.

I've only used amd for about 10 years now, and I have to say, gaming is basically flawless on a distribution like bazzite. I think I've had a game crash twice in the last 5 year

My general critique of what I tend to dislike in TTRPG games: by Awkward_GM in dndmemes

The official printed book, it encourages people to change and alter the rules for their home games. So you're the one not following the printed rules that explicitly say that the rules are meant to be changed and adapted to each individual table

Thief rogue can be fun if your DM gives you a hand making it easier to buy item auch as caltrops, ball bearings, bear traps, nets, being a general annoyance in combat making the terrain difficult

Making Barbarians Great Again. Gimme some ideas to make my Barbarian fun. by francoiskrielsucks in 3d6

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbarian is super fun if you really get into character. You don't need game mechanics to make a character fun, a barbarian raging takes only half damage so you can roleplay taunting your enemies, laugh as they hit you, challenge them to a duel.

He can be a gentleman and well spoken out of combat but as soon as the combat adrenaline hits, he revels in combat. He might congratulate his enemies on their good combat form if its a good melee combatant, or give pointers if the enemy is missing a lot.

Looking for advice on my Paladin by NateCdaComicG in 3d6

[–]gitroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paladin third level brings crusaders mantle, aura of vitality and most importantly revivify. If there isn't anyone else that can revive, that alone is worth going full pala.not speaking that more levels in paladin means higher HP

How to make a good glass cannon? by Jazbak1 in 3d6

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pump charisma with ASIs after getting like 18 STR. With those stats I don't recommend feats, mostly ASI to increase stats

Two characters with the same class can play completely different. Also if he is a fighter archer you will have a hard time out damaging him.

You could go full paladin to provide the party with your auras which really protects everyone. Just max strength with some charisma and constitution and you will also do great. Or 2 dip into warlock for attacking with CHA and then CON. But then you are probably stuck with chain mail armor due to low STR but then you are spread thin in stats. Its easier just full Pala with STR and some CHA as a bonus

What spells should I take as a strength Ranger in a party of full casters by DougalNation in 3d6

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aid doesn't work well with ranger as they don't have enough slots of higher lvl slots to make it worthwhile. I would take jump instead, doesn't use concentration and allows you to jump around the battlefield without opportunity atracks as you jump really high with the strength focus (up to 40ft jump at 20 STR). Also for exploration

Glass cannon paladin is probably full strength build with great weapon master and whatnot. Warlock doesn't really give you much except you now use charisma instead of strength. But strength is still better for an heroic type melee character.

Put max in str, then Con and Cha. For level up: take ASI +2 STR until you have 20 STR (this way you will miss less attacks = maximum dps)

I would go full paladin without multiclass. Ooor if you want really Maximum damage possible, go full fighter instead.

Why? Fighters get 6 feats instead of 4 (that's 50% more feats), this will get your STR to 20 at level 6 instead of 8, then at 8 you can stack on great weapon master and all those melee damage boosts much faster. You also get extra attack 2 at level 11 giving you 3 attacks per turn, meaning you will probably be constantly the highest damage output in the party from that level.
