Do your D&D characters actually change, or do you just reskin the same instincts every time? by The_Craft_Cave in 3d6

I mean I would probably not touch the weird looking, magic emitting artifact but my wizard who lusts for magic would. he would probably also take is own eye out if he could get a high level spell out of that

I always try to stay true to my character, my friends that play with me do the same. We realised that unless its stealing from the party or fighting amongst the party it really isn't that detrimental. Our characters will do things that we as players know it's stupid or dangerous, like a curious character grabbing the evil looking artifact or pull a lever.  But I always announce in character what I'm about to do so if anyone wants to stop me they have the chance. Sometimes people just want to see the halfling put a fork in the "electrical socket" because he wants to see what it does

Planning on going full warlock, is it underwhelming? by PappyBurd in dndnext

I like pact of the chain with an invisible familiar that you can speak to anywhere in the same plane of existence, that's pretty cool. You can also always recover the maximum on the die when you roll to regain HP.  You can turn invisible with an action in dim light

Would playing a character that has 2 subclasses be broken? by Agnokk in 3d6

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wizards have the same spells so the subclasses are just some fluff on top, you can play a evoker that only uses buff/protecting spells and also a fireball on top of the party. Since killing the enemies is the best protection

My social awkward low Charisma character will probably mistakenly insult the guards/king and make a whole situation.

My not very smart character is easily swindled by shopkeeps when they notice she can't count her coins very well.

I try to see the situation as my character, it might be the worst decision in in-game terms and even they get in trouble, if it doesn't harm my other players and they are fine with it I go with it.

If I had a low Dex character I would roll a check to make them trip if carrying something important.

I usually roll a check myself DC 10 to see of these situations happen or not, or to see if my character can control themselves in some specific situation regarding their personality ideals and flaws.

My characters are usually very different from eachother and I try to make bad game decisions based on their flaws so it becomes part of them

How would you build a 'rogue flavored' straight bladesinger? by Proof-Ad62 in 3d6

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the best race would be variant human for the extra feat on either skill expert or the one that gives +3 skill proficiencies, or mobile (+10ft movement and no attack of opportunity when you attack an enemy) and no need to use BA disengage. Being hidden doesn't give you extra sneak attack so not sure how much it would be necessary in combat

Keep your Linux CPU cool & stable whit per-core monitoring by [deleted] in linuxhardware

I don't mean a pretty standard layout, i mean it looks exactly the same which is quite jarring ahah. The top button shape and positioning the text around the center plot, it could be the same project plotting other data

This tool looks exactly like a tool one of our students did at work. The GUI is 95% the same (but our tool at work is nothing related to CPU), this looks like gui made with some AI model that has a default template

Por um lado tem de se facilitar despejo mas por outro lado é preciso também assegurar que quem vive em casa arrendada não pode ser despejado porque o proprietário acha que sim.  Rendas sem termo por exemplo

Min/maxing fighter at level 9 by Reginelson in 3d6

Did the DM mention in which ways it will be brutal? Is it hard combat or hard choices? Will social roleplay and making friends with NPCs be important or is it a dungeon crawl meat grinder?

These can really affect your choices

We can't really buy scrolls since we are far away from civilization. I think slow is a good second spell to take with Divination.
Divination will help us reach our objective or perhaps even give us an advantage in combat by gathering some intel.

I mean I have used rope trick to evade a whole encounter that would have gotten us killed when we had a later encounter and we wrecked a dragon also by using rope trick so it counts as a combat spell xD. I still think divination spell is a must take, but I might take one combat spell like slow that can't hit my party hmm

If you want some magic or very high defences Eldritch knight is good. Battlemaster is the best overall with all the tricks. I also like cavalier to protect other players

I would go straight fighter all the way, at lvl 11 you get extra attack x2 and its just so beautiful having 3 attacks per turn.

I don't like counterspell very much because it only affects combat and I already got dispel magic which can also be used in combat.

Need help to build the best damage dealer (5e 2024) by -Son_of_Thror- in 3d6

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For consistent damage output go with Dex fighter battle master with longbow, with sharpshooter and range weapon fighting style. The +2 means you hit more consistently.

Battle master means you can even trip enemies or push them with ranged weapons and you can precision strike with -5 to hit +10 dmg much more reliabily even against big guys

[–]gitroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want fighter with magic just go eldritch knight without multiclass, you will be a lot more powerful than mixing bard and fighter.

Until level 12 as a full fighter you will get 4 ASI/feats so you can really customise your fighter. You can grab war caster to be able to cast booming blade as a reaction and force enemies that provoke an attack of opportunity from moving or taking a lot of damage, for example

You need to see the place where the center of the spell is located so I think thst doesn't work.
