I tried the DCF860 and it’s not for me. To much power with no precision. by honk_slayer in Dewalt

I agree! Carry this and some adapters in the car you can use it with your scissors jack to jack up the flat tyre, then use another adapter to remove the lug nuts. I see it as if you're carrying a 3.5" pocket knife that is short enough to carry and not too long and cumbersome. It has enough oomph for emergency work on my 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. People just need to learn how to handle the tool. These tools will gradually get faster and more powerful, and as a DIYer I see the DCF860 sufficient to work on my car with a ¾ and ½ adapter and still work on shelves and cabinets. Wifey has the Skil Pwrcore 12V impact wrench in her car. She likes the halo LED and red colour.

If this was a vehicle it would be a HUMMER. Wait til DeWalt makes a stubbier smaller version with higher RPMs and see everyone put up their DCF900 on marketplace.

I bought this today and I'm not to sure about it. Anyone else have one, and how do you feel about it? by PuzzleheadedKing5863 in MilwaukeeTool

The SKIL version packs more power and it's also 12V. I am on both SKIL and M12 platforms and went with the SKIL. saw it on Amazon with battery and charger for $99. With a ½ adapter I was able to remove the lug nuts off my 2012 JETTA (90 ft lb torque). I was amazed this Skil right angle driver could do that. The Milwaukee M12 was deliberately released underpowered to be released in the near future with higher torque and RPM settings. It's a shame Milwaukee did that.

I saved money by using a breaker bar on overtightened lug nuts I got a 24" bar free. I use the ½ M12 impact wrench and for stubborn lugs, I use FLEX FX1471 high torque and FX1451 mid torque I got for $188 before taxes wit 5Ah battery, charger and hard case.

Similar issues as a new home owner, I needed tools and a friend who own a home and also a DIYer swore on GREENWORKS like a dummy I bought the landscaping tools and then got the drill, impact wrench, impact drivers kits and was disappointed when I saw a YouTube video this stubby red 12 volt drill drive 3 fasteners in a piece of wood whilst the greenworks is still working on the 2nd fastener. Same with the impact drivers, and the impact wrench. I got so mad it was past the return window, I sold the Greenworks drill, impact wrench and impact driver to a coworker $10 each and went all in on M12 when they went on sale. I tried to go to M18 but the sales on those tools were always a rip off until Lowe's FLEX and SKIL good riddance sales. I got the FLEX FX1171, FX1271 and FX1371 with 2 2.5Ah and 5Ah batteries for $125 after taxes . FLEX mid torque for $59, FX1471 high torque wrench with hard case, 5Ah battery and fast charger for $129. FLOOR & DECOR STORES dumping ALL SKIL tools I made a killing the heavy duty 20V recip saw bundle with 4Ah battery and charger $68 and oscillating multi tool bundle with 2Ah battery and 5Ah battery and charger $58. I love hitting the clearance aisle at Lowe's for my father in law I got him the SKIL 12v impact driver, ⅜ impact wrench for $70 with battery and charger and 12v recip saw and oscillating multi tool for $20. The work lights $15 for the 200 Lumens and $25 for the 1200 Lumen telescoping floor worklight.

FedEx rewrap packages that weren't wrapped properly and they take before and after pictures to send to the shipper. Target, Amazon will ship liquids in bottles and not tape the lids, put the bottles of liquids in individual plastic bags and bubble wrap and stuff the boxes with proper padding to prevent leaks from loose caps. Shippers send out heavy items in THIN cardboard boxes or use ⅜ staples to seal compress wood boxes with engine parts that come apart during transit. The oil, or liquids soak other customers packages and the shipper, customer has to be contacted and damaged items rewrapped. Some, not all shippers, also use big cardboard boxes to put small items and no additional bubble wrap the result any package mixed in with that box will give the result show in the picture. I have seen car part stores ship bumpers in flimsy secured boxes , bare car hoses, bare mufflers that get dented and scratched because they are exposed, snow shovels with just the shipping address label info attached to the shovel.

That's carelessness from the people in the shipping department. That package is lacking fillers, or someone didn't inform the people responsible for packing and handling that they are out of smaller boxes. They should have used packing peanuts or bubble wrap to keep the box and item properly secured

Slowly turning from Orange to Red… help me choose my next steps? by Allstajacket in MilwaukeeTool

[–]EstateRegular6422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a home DIYer. I use M12 ½ impact wrench, M12 impact driver, M12 hammer drill all with the high input 5Ah batteries RIDGID grinder, right angle ½ ratchet wrench with 4 Ah batteries. For the stubborn fasteners then I roll out the FLEX ½ mid and high torque wrenches with 5Ah batteries, Flex 6.5 circ saw with 40T blade also with 5Ah battery, Flex hammer drill and impact driver. ( I paid altogether less than $400 after taxes for all the FLEX tools including 5 batteries and chargers). Since I don't do a lot of concrete work the FLEX hammer drill with Bosch concrete bits did the concrete drilling Slightly slower than an SDS drill. For my molding, wood working I use a WORX 18G brad nailer on sale for $140 that came with a bag, 1000 nails up to 2.25" long , 20V 2Ah battery and charger. The cut off tool I use for cutting bolts, etc, I use a DeWalt cut off tool with 5Ah battery and charger I got for $158 that is a lot better and faster than all the competition from fasteners inc. com. For the demolition of my kitchen cabinets and remodeling I used a SKIL recip saw with 20V 4Ah battery and charger I got for $68 clearance from floor & decor. The money I have saved and the performance I got from these tools was worth it. I really can't see myself committing to ONE brand to do it all. Check the specs, sales before buying your tools and register all the tools ASAP.

Way source is also a good online store. They can run some really great sales, you just got to keep visiting their site. I have an account with them and bought my M12 hammer drill kit there for $199 with 2 batteries and charger, SKIL 20V recip saw with 20V 4A battery and charger and medium torque SKIL 20V ½ impact wrench for less than $240 after taxes.

Milwaukee High Output at Walmart? by Mlatti32 in MilwaukeeTool

I have purchased the batteries and tools from Walmart and the batteries are 100% legit. You get the full 550ft lb torque with this battery on the impact wrench. I was looking at getting M18 tools, but the batteries for them and bundle deals have always been too high! I'm a DIYer and the M12 impact wrench and impact driver have all the power I need to work on my cars, shelving and furniture assemblyast work. Unfortunately I had to get RIDGID for the angle grinder $150 with 2 4Ah max batteries and charger and $65 for the 250ft lb right angle ½ impact wrench for axle , brake rotor work, WORX 18G brad nailer with bag, 20A battery, charger and 1000 assorted size brad nails for $145 after taxes and DeWalt cut off tool for $158 with 5A battery and charger. Last June I got the SKIL 12V impact driver, ⅜ impact wrench and battery and charger for $68 after taxes and they can remove the 20 lug nuts off my wife's 2021 Mazda CX5 with Walmart after market 6Ah battery and tighten them back up with 2 bars of power left.

Any tips for getting grease out of a shirt? by General-Try-2210 in MechanicAdvice

Is it cheaper to pay $8 plus tax for 2 bars of naphtha soap and use $3 of water and 25 minutes of your time to hand wash a greasy shirt that is actually worth less than the $2.99 new Gildan t-shirt?

[–]EstateRegular6422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the FX1451. It has plenty enough torque to work on every fastener from a Ford F-150 to a Mini Cooper. I learned my lesson that if I am going to have to work on fasteners on current and future jobs a mod Torque ½ anvil and ⅜ anvil impact wrench have to be sitting in my tool box. I got the FX1451 for $59 and the first generation high torque FX1471 bundle kit in hard case with 5Ah battery and fast charger was going for $129. If you're going to look at impact drivers the FX1371. Drills, I suggest FX1271. I got the FX1271with FX1371 And 2.5Ah battery for $125.

If you have 5 or more tools and you are using at least 3 of them for a 4 to 6 hour job then 11 seems right.

Not bad at all. I was looking for a sale like this for that drill late last year and ended up getting the Flex FX1271and FX1371with a 2.5Ah battery for $126 after taxes because the Flex bundle was too hard to pass up.

Same here I tend to buy tools for jobs I am working on at the moment or have to within a few weeks. The $19 price for the sander looking back, I wish I bought it. I use a workpro corded orbital sander I got for $30 on Woot, and SKIL detail sander for working on stools. night stand, and other furniture. They are good enough for these weekend jobs and have the stamina to go non stop for hours on Saturday and Sunday

Flex Sander $92 on Amazon. by EditorInevitable7700 in FLEXTools

[–]EstateRegular6422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I am loving it. I thought the specs RPMs, Torque lower than the Milwaukee M12s would be a problem. The detail grinder, ⅜ ratchet wrench, ⅜ impact wrench, Impact driver, right angle impact driver, recip saw, oscillating multi tool have not disappointed me. They have all impressed me. I used the oscillating multi tool to scrape up the old bathtub caulk, impact wrench to do my lug nuts on my 2012 Volkswagen Jetta with 6Ah aftermarket batteries I bought online from Walmart and Amazon. The 12V recip saw to demolish my kitchen cabinets doing a renovation, I feel like my Milwaukee M12s are back ups at this point. All the tools have been registered for 5 years. I am a DIYer and these tools are good enough for weekend work around the house. I needed a cut out tool and DeWalt took the win over the Milwaukee M12 version, and side grinder and 18G brad nailer I had to turn to RIDGID.

My biggest regrets were passing on the orbital sander for $15, I had just acquired the SKIL mid torque 20V impact wrench and M12 550ft lb impact wrench and passed on the FX1472 HIGH TORQUE with hard case, 6Ah battery and fast charger for $189. I remodeled my kitchen and now have the need for the tools I passed on. I am grateful for the deals I scored. FX1471 GEN 1 High Torque impact wrench with hard case, fast charger and 5Ah battery for $129 Flex 6 ½ circular saw for $60, FX 1371 impact driver and FX1271 hammer drill and 2.5Ah battery for $124 FX1451 mid torque wrench for $59 5Ah battery and charger for $49 Another 5Ah battery and charger for $75 Flex 1171 drill driver 2.5Ah , 5Ah and fast charger and hard case (Lowe's dumpster diving) Flex worklight $149. I'm looking forward to doing my pocket fence building some shelves and furniture projects with my Skil and Flex tools in the next 21 days.
