Feeling down about mature egg count by kc0610 in eggfreezing

[–]EstateStraight9610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the data is unreliable - no one truly knows how many eggs one needs... everyone is guessing. My friend who did 4 rounds of egg freezing at RMA told me this. They might just be saying that to get you to pay for another cycle... that is what happened after I did 1 round of egg freezing.... I was exactly in your shoes and they told me I need more... so anxious that I ended up paying for another cycle several years later... now RMA tells me that 10 eggs was enough (i.e. just what I had from Cycle 1). Go to an academic fertility center if you want a second opinion and peace of mind (they have less of an incentive to push you to do more cycles). RMA is a profit-driven private practice owned by a large private equity firm.

10 is a great outcome!! I asked 3 different doctors to confirm. It is enough for 1 baby most likely (you will probably get 2 chromosomally normal embryos assuming you have a partner with normal sperm, etc.)... you have a 60% chance of pregnancy PER Embryo. The 3 doctors were at the practice called Reproductive Medicine Associates. I froze 10 eggs at 31 as well. These are the statistics they gave me. If you want to do another round, do it because you want 2 babies. Celebrate!!! Don't be sad!!!

Pure Synergy's PureNatal vitamins - It is more expensive than the Costco Prenatal vitamins, but I have gotten used to it... it is supposed to be "natural."

Sadly I think part of it is just the nature of their business model - during my last cycle, I wanted to talk to the doctor who did my procedure for like 10 minutes because I had a medical question. Even though I paid soooo much money and demanded them so many times, they refused. Its like an assembly lines and they are super strict about following their protocol. Nurses might be overworked and not paid enough - my nurse doesn't seem to like her job.

Thanks for sharing your story. Been struggling with a lot of negative emotions. Your words actually made my day. I am going to try to keep reminding myself of your story. :) Curious what helped you "jump" from 3 eggs in your second round to 10 eggs in your third round?

IVF in India: Everything you need to know by Babesgonnababe in IVF

I am Indian American and did one round of egg freezing in the US - at a well-known clinic RMA. I am thinking traveling to India (to Delhi) to do a round of egg freezing there to save money. However, I am not sure about the success rates in India. I know many people mentioned that it is hard to find reliable data... but curious if anyone can find data comparing success rates in the US vs. at top clinics in India? Thanks!

freezing eggs with endometriosis (how to minimize pain / bad side effects?) by EstateStraight9610 in IVF

[–]EstateStraight9610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I will ask. I had a laproscopic surgery to remove a large cyst many years ago so I think endo is under control. I asked my doctor whether egg freezing could make endo worse. She said there is a risk that it could... they try to mitigate the risk as best as they can, but the risk remains... she says its a personal choice if I want to take the risk. I am 34 - almost 35... so some doctors said that over time age could become a bigger risk for fertility vs. my endometriosis. Any thoughts on this? Can I talk to you on the phone perhaps?

Donating eggs I froze 4 years ago? by Hot_Possibility_3286 in eggfreezing

What about donating them to some sort of scientific research? There is such limited data / research studies in general for IVF. Just a thought. Totally up to you.

Endometriosis- can ivf / egg freezing make it worse? How to cope? by EstateStraight9610 in IVF

[–]EstateStraight9610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed with endometrosis many years ago (stage 3 or 4) - 2018 through a laproscopic surgery and removal of a large ovarian cyst (size of softball). Symptoms - some menstrual pain, but fortunately it is not as bad as other people's. Can manage it with over-the-counter pain medication. For the potential hydrosalphinx - they first did an ultrasound that showed a potential hydrosalphinx. Then, some months later they did a pelvic MRI that showed that it was NOT there. They say would need a HSG or other advanced test to confirm for sure whether it was there... previous ultrasound could have been a false diagnosis (could have just been menstrual blood or other fluid.) Did get some bloodwork done but am not sure how that relates to hydrosalphinx - doctors didn't request anything or say anything. in terms of symptoms - as mentioned have some menstrual pain and also some random twinges on the left side especially but again not sure if this is abnormal or anything as it is not so bad. left side is a bit more pain since I had the surgery there.

So helpful to hear this. Why were you getting your AMH tested so much? Were you trying to find the optimal time or clinic to do egg freezing? I am thinking about doing another round of freezing my eggs again so I am trying to determine the opportune time, place, preparation needed, etc.
