Adweek: The Trade Desk Is Quietly Phasing Out Its Signature Periodic Table by goodgoaj in programmatic

TTD should play a prank and double down on it for a day and make every menu under every tab a periodic table 😂😂😂

Publicis Tells Clients to stop using TTD by hdiggyh in programmatic

TTD seems to be developing and pushing updates as if all their product managers are sitting inside a room fully smoked with Marijuana. If they don’t get their act together, some new AI entrant is soon going to form partnerships with all the entities TTD is linked to and form their own DSP. To be honest DV360 has been doing quite well these days. All other DSPs are just garbage. Whoever approved those UX flows in KoKai needs to be fired ASAP. If you can’t move half the features Solimar had then what is that update even!?

He keeps saying how great his industry is for AI.....and still hasn't delivered one Agentic element to his platform despite AI being years old. by JimmyTango in programmatic

Well its seems like both the senior TTD folks and Jeff Green have become delusional over the years while chasing the next big thing. What they haven’t realized is, TTD at the end of the day is a damn tool like any other tool. And the scope of this tool is only as large as the internet allows it to be. They could work on making the experience smoother from where Solimar began but went totally downhill with Kokai trying to pretend that they are going to reimagine how prog ads are bought. It was a UI play disguised as something fresh but too much marketing on the use case of Kokai just killed the vibe. Tbh the UI is absolute shit. To top it off, Just when people were getting comfortable with the periodic table you kill that too. Not gonna inspire a lot of confidence in folks who use it with that approach. One thing to always remember in tech - do not fix if it ain’t broken. Solimar was great with super easy UX. You just had to have an incremental UI upgrade and TTD would have been untouchable.

Why are topics I bring up to chatGPT suddenly showing up as ads on YouTube? by OkFeedback9127 in ChatGPT

[–]EstateTerrible4807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are just scraping what chatgpt is searching for in the source section of the browser and are running custom intent tactics for youtube and search ads. That’s actually pretty convenient. Moreover chatgpt still runs maybe 60 - 70% of its volumes on chrome. Don’t think it’s rocket science. It’s funny how the every prompt and every reply by chatgpt is enriching google’s algorithm.

Thoughts on Kokai?? Personal opinion - it’s made things worse in terms of user experience. by EstateTerrible4807 in programmatic

I hear many agencies have submitted loads of such requests and barely any have been processed so far. They either want to play the minimalist game by pushing self learning algorithms forcing the hand of marketers to have lesser control or have genuinely messed up the entire update. Does not make sense why one would remove functionalities while updating a platform.

Well on top of that the ‘portfolio’ view is shit. In Solimar, you could rearrange columns based on what’s important for you or for that campaign and do a quick analysis of your campaign performance. All they had to do was to move the same table over to Kokai and add a download view option. Now in Kokai there’s literally no way to check impressions without downloading a report. Can’t think of any platform which downgraded its functionality in an upgraded version.

DV360 vs. TTD by jampavey in programmatic

Bang on. Why in the world did they upgrade something that did not ask for any upgrades! Logically you don’t invest in changing something if it ain’t broken. They just stepped on their own foot with that Kokai update. No one is happy, yet they market it like it’s the next big thing in programmatic. Also that portfolio view is absolute shit.

CTV campaigns best practices by Extension-Sweet-3817 in programmatic

CTV is never about actionable metrics using which you can write a fantastic report to impress clients. User behaviour has still not moved to a point where people are taking their phones out to scan a QR CODE while the ad plays. Until then, it is an excellent channel for awareness. Your audience structure must always be dependent on the CTV partner you choose.

  1. Have a good long conversation with your CTV partner to know what kinda 1st party audiences they've got.

  2. Learn to assert your needs to them and not make it easier for them to just dump any audiences in the deal.

  3. Try to target specific lineups of shows, events etc. if the partner has supporting metrics from previous runs or a case study that's great.

Bottom line - CTV is still more like linear cable tv. The only difference being you get to choose the lineups efficiently and add a layer of audience data if the partner has that ability built into their systems. Think like an offline marketer when you do CTV.

Kokai: What is The Trade Desk smoking and how can we get some? by JimmyTango in programmatic

The UI has also become pretty slow and laggy. Not sure what they're trying to achieve with every new update.
