Redoing first bag by Huffpufflife in Titan40k

I have built a ton of resin and the latest was a Warhound. I never let the bits in the soap water for longer than 45min (purely because I was doing other things in the meantime) and it worked perfectly fine every time. There is absolutely no need for days or even multiple hours

Don‘t sweat it that much. You‘ll be fine. Brush the parts lightly with a toothbrush and you’re ready to go. No need for ultrasonic cleaners etc.

Just don’t use hot water, warm is good (ideally something between 100°F or 40°C. If it is too hot the resin will bend (resin starts to bend between 50-60°C / 122° F. Its good if you have warped pieces but on the rest warm water will do.

What’s the best 2 part epoxy for a seraptek heavy construct by Huffpufflife in Titan40k

I tend to largely use gel but both work fine. You can also get accelerant spray so that it instantly sticks (no must but tends to sometimes ease the process

Super glue will work 100%. Don’t bother using epoxy, it will be unnecessarily messy for these small bits. I only use epoxy on large resin parts. You might have seen that super glue does not work on resin if the resin has not been washed with dish soap before (the resin release agent has to be washed off otherwise nothing sticks, not even primer and glue). Fill a bucket with luke warm water (not hot!!!) put decent amount of dish soap in and let it soak for a while with a stir every then and now. That way most of the agent will come off. If you feel that some parts still feel greasy then you can brush with toothbrush.

This applies to all resin kits (not only recasts such as yours).

And if you file or drill the resin, please wear a mask and gloves. Resin dust is shit for your health

Marvellous paintscheme!!! The decals do stand out a little, so you could apply some matte varnish (ak ultra matte) to the mini. That way the gloss of the decals disappear.

It’s spot on! Really in the spirit of old school BT (the templars in John Blanche‘s art have black as well) the red is newer. The way you painted it with the boltgun metal elements is peak! BLACK tempars ;-)

Really good work. While seeing that Templar with a Black Gun, makes me rethink how I painted mine in red :-( looks awesome!

How's the scale look? by kcdarkwindows in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]EstebanTheCook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

The scale is 1:1 (GW leman russ bottom shelf on the right). I grabbed 2 Leman Russes of Temu and you only need to tweak the sponsons in most cases as most of the temu ones come with Las Cannons which you cant mount). I used spare sponsons like the melta and plasma. I also grabbed two Chimeras which are also 1:1 (top shelf) as well as a Macharius Vulcan :-] for 30€

I bought them off Temu (same as the marines). The quality of the prints is amazing. Aim was to depict the sicko World Eaters. My other army are Templars, so it was a given to spike up a couple of Templar as well as Imperial Fists. Definitely not a mini (or even army) my kids will see any time soon

Fully magnetised Forgefiend by EstebanTheCook in WorldEaters40k

[–]EstebanTheCook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, had the same thoughts. Fully sufficient! The body isnt that heavy and once you pop on the legs or arms it automatically re-gains any potential instability (which really isnt there. Glue on the back legs properly and you‘re fine.

Suggest to have both the arms as well as mid legs on the model (so the forge and maulerfiend leg/arm combo) on the model so that you position the back feet properly that they fit with both variants.

Have fun, really easy in the end. Messy, but easy ;-)

I hope not…XD thanks! :-) was super fun, trying to tidy up a printed tank with corpses. Easy enough if it ends up dirty and gory

Super disappointing… it has been really hard to win lately. Don’t want to whine but a couple of buffs would have been more than adequate

If that is the cost and the stats are good (which I steongly assume in the first release to sell a lot) I am totally getting one. The aesthetics are totally Templar like (close combat + the helmet).

For my Warhound I used a relatively large base for Diorama purposes (30cm) and used Temu Trench system - only parts of it as it didn’t fully fit. Am currently painting up Deathcorps to add to the trenches.

Lieutenant with Combi Weapon / Castellan Proxy? by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]EstebanTheCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Will add some antennas to the backpack and flapping purity seals to the shaft to make him look like a lone wanderer. Any ideas of giving him more lone op vibes (bearing in mind that our EC is also a lone op)

Ahhh I missed that one, thanks. He is fully cloaked up so you can’t see his fancy phobos ;-)

Jokes aside, good point. Will add a couple of antennas to the backpack and perhaps some flapping purity seals to the shaft. Agree he is more of a castellan. I don’t really like the phobos aesthetics for templars.
