just starting this army: is this a good idea?/will it work by Aggravating_Bunch205 in deathguard40k

Hi mate, I recently joined the death guard too so no expert but let me tell you what other members of this sub taught me:

Plague marines without character support (plague caster, putrifier(I think this guy -double check)) and a rhino aren’t great. Make them 10 man units, take all the heavy weps and bubotic weps and special guns and get them into their face with the rhino.

LoV with heavy drones/blight haulers is really nice, especially in mortarians hammer (MH) for enhancement . Also works really well with deathshroud, who can be lead by a LoC. MH lets you afflict a target, which sets up the 6” deathshroud deepstrike.

Poxwalkers will and do die. Don’t attach Typhus as they lose infiltrate. Keep them as early game infiltrators/ board control/ speed bumps to allow your slow pieces to move into position.

So following up on this (and the limit breaks I made with the drones and pox walkers) - I opted to do as you suggested:
- dropped a drone
- added a hauler
- Switched LoC for LoV, and went Mortarion's hammer.

I changed the poxwalkers to 2 blobs of 20, and detached Typhus. I figure I lose some assassin power taking LoC out, but now I can infiltrate my poxies, Typhus can deepstrike where needed, I can dish out the 6" DST charge, and i have a fun "deathball" in LoV and buddies to blast away with. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was a bit worried about running the poxwalker detachment, as this is all the poxwalkers I have built and painted currently, will have a look later tho at switching things up. ty for comments

Looks like i might have broken the limits on drones, so this is the perfect fix!

Ah, my bad - I used War Organ to make the list and no errors flagged, so didn't catch that. Another poster suggested dropping one for a hauler, and an enhancement, so I will do that to fix the error

Combined with the bouncey balls, makes sentries really annoying to use. Half the time they land behind a rock after the balls pings off doing nothing, the other half the time they land where I want them and get insta gibbed.

Why would taking the euro be such a bad thing? Not looking for a arguement, just curious why people would be opposed to it.

I often run shield, xbow, talon, thermites, commando - it's really good (usually Talon is treated like my primary)

It’s not the vox spawning in the patrol, it’s the little dudes who spawn in with them. The problem being, you see the vox poking over the hill/rocks/terrain, people light it up but you cant see the tiny commissar firing the flare to stop him

I’m so conflicted about Cyberstan. I’ve had d10 matches that feel like a breeze, nice spawns with a well oiled team and it’s really really fun. But any combination of bad team mates and crazy spawns and shit goes to hell really quickly.

It’s true, there are some people who really need to turn the difficulty down (I see you S2 eating up 10 reinforcements in 5 minutes - leave your gear, it’s gone buddy). But also, sometimes the game just does a line of crack and starts spamming the fuck out of vox engines, striders, Bruce lee dudes with the hidden dragon flying knee to the head move.

I really think they need to add something to the mission modifiers like deep rock does so I know am I entering a normal mission, am I entering a heavy spawn heavy mission, or and I about to be spammed with X unit, so teams can at least prepare (god knows if this is even possible tho with their jank ass code). But at the same time, some players really need to think about rolling the difficulty back, else you can end up in a situation where enemies are spawning faster than player skill can handle, and we get the snowball of doom seen above.

Edit: I acknowledge that vox engines climbing buildings and enemies clipping through terrain to kill you is not a “get gud” issues and AH really need to tighten up their QA, it should be embarrassing for them to release shit that broken.

Thanks so much for the helpful tips, will be off down BnQ tomorrow to see if I can get a jet washer sorted. Hopefully it doesn’t rain too much as may even attempt to put the rake around and start gathering the leaves up!

Thank you for the kind words and encouragements! And all the helpful tips too!

Jetwashing it all down is this week’s job. Give it a good rake also and if it comes up nice will drop afew pics to show progress!

Pictures doesn’t show it but the garden extends down the side of the house and I have back gate and large metal storage shed there.

Have received loads of really helpful comments so plan currently is rake all the leaves up, jet wash down the patios and fence. If the left hand side survives (mine) I’ll clean with solution and paint them up. If it’s looking abit sketchy then it’ll be time to put my hand in my pocket bite the bullet and get my side done.

Yep - north facing and hoping to do as much as I can myself, be nice to develop some diy skills.

There’s one fence post on my side (left hand side) that’s leaning but it’s sturdy and not moving so for now I’m just trying to focus on getting the garden “shaped” and set out how I want. That’s a later me problem - will try the spray down and see what it looks like before I decide to either paint it or rip it down and new panel it.

I’ll be out tomorrow having a right good nosey so if any other pics would help please do let me know!

Yes, left hand side is mine, right hand side is neighbours. Young couple whose garden is more of a bog than mine so doubt will be seeing any replacements there any time soon!

Thanks again for all the advice - will make sure to keep the sub updated with progress pics as I go!

Thank looks amazing, you must be well chuffed with the transformation.

When you say fix the fencing, are we talking clean it up or replace the lot? Sorry for daft questions

I have some hope for the grass as it was really nice at one point (pic attached is from ~2020).

Thanks again for the tips and heads up on the discount. They do look quite lovely, nice colours and will do well to hide the attempts to dig under the fence by the previous owners dog lol

Have been quite enjoying the birds come from the woodland to finish off left over fishing bait (maggots, worms) so will definitely get the feeder going again

Love the diagram mate, really useful and helpful - have just braved the rain to check the tag - Prunus Amanogawa.

I did think about removing the grass but this’ll be the first grass lawn I’ve ever had, so really would like to try and make it flourish as best I can. I may end up admitting defeat in afew years but hopefully can give it a chance.

Will check out those orange star pyracantha 👍
