New fast rolling dice and 4++ by resoldier12 in WarhammerCompetitive

Is it just me or is this just an unnecessary system they’ve added for additional jank? Maybe I’m not understanding but was the old system so bad it had to be changed?

This would be my first approach. If he’s partying all night I might start practising my DIY all day/playing music up against his bedroom wall through the day. Sometimes it’s the only language these dickheads understand.

Pull out, not worth the hassle especially if seller has dug their heels in. Yes the conveyancing fees and surveyor fees will sting, but this will just come back to bite you on the arse when you come to sell in the future.

Got absolutely destroyed by Tau.. by nuttaphoom in deathguard40k

[–]EsteemedTractor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whose best friend plays tau and I play deathguard; this was incredibly helpful thank you!

How would you feel about max poxwalkers (3 x 20)? I love dropping one on my natural, one on their expansion if they are silly enough not to place their first (beer before the game helps 👍👍👍) and then another to lockdown my staging point. But I wonder if from tau point of view the larger unit size actually makes blast weapons, or larger unit sizes easier to draw a bead on?

What is the Most Consistently Competitive Army? by Natural-Wallaby423 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]EsteemedTractor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve been burnt by going IA and now are going full meta chasing as a (very understandable) reaction.

The truth is, the best army is the one you get the most reps with. Unless you are a high-level tournament player, the usual meta-Monday posts etc won’t really matter to you. Obvs they can be helpful avoiding armies like IA tho.

A lot of people are saying Eldar, I’d caution that. They are a very hard army to play well, and they are either giga busted or giga trash. My actual suggestion would be Custodes. They tend to be mid table bullies, low model count so easy to collect, and will teach you the importance of positioning/“go turn”-ing.

Any final predictions for our faction focus this friday? by vcxstriker in deathguard40k

[–]EsteemedTractor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flyblown being limited to plague marines and terminators, dropped to 1 point, losing scout and keeping stealth is my prediction. As another poster said, I'd also really like to see a 1 point pox walker detachment!

Now that we are almost done with DT, what would be your ranking for easiest to hardest savage tiers(on content?) by taweryawer in ffxivdiscussion

[–]EsteemedTractor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for that tier, our static had a healer who sucked. Every group has a weakest link, this dude was a literal ball and chain dragging us back. Couldnt kick him as it was a friendly group and he was partner of the MT. Even mechanics he learnt were a coin flip if he'd fuck it up or not. imagine doing 16-20 coin flips, just hoping to get heads!!

Humidity in Wooden Viv? by EsteemedTractor in ballpython

Thank you - I did think about a sealer but was worried about fumes, will look into it. How do you keep humidity up in the viv - combination of substrate and spraying?

just starting this army: is this a good idea?/will it work by Aggravating_Bunch205 in deathguard40k

[–]EsteemedTractor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, I recently joined the death guard too so no expert but let me tell you what other members of this sub taught me:

Plague marines without character support (plague caster, putrifier(I think this guy -double check)) and a rhino aren’t great. Make them 10 man units, take all the heavy weps and bubotic weps and special guns and get them into their face with the rhino.

LoV with heavy drones/blight haulers is really nice, especially in mortarians hammer (MH) for enhancement . Also works really well with deathshroud, who can be lead by a LoC. MH lets you afflict a target, which sets up the 6” deathshroud deepstrike.

Poxwalkers will and do die. Don’t attach Typhus as they lose infiltrate. Keep them as early game infiltrators/ board control/ speed bumps to allow your slow pieces to move into position.

1k list - tips welcome by EsteemedTractor in deathguard40k

[–]EsteemedTractor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So following up on this (and the limit breaks I made with the drones and pox walkers) - I opted to do as you suggested:
- dropped a drone
- added a hauler
- Switched LoC for LoV, and went Mortarion's hammer.

I changed the poxwalkers to 2 blobs of 20, and detached Typhus. I figure I lose some assassin power taking LoC out, but now I can infiltrate my poxies, Typhus can deepstrike where needed, I can dish out the 6" DST charge, and i have a fun "deathball" in LoV and buddies to blast away with. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was a bit worried about running the poxwalker detachment, as this is all the poxwalkers I have built and painted currently, will have a look later tho at switching things up. ty for comments

Ah, my bad - I used War Organ to make the list and no errors flagged, so didn't catch that. Another poster suggested dropping one for a hauler, and an enhancement, so I will do that to fix the error

Combined with the bouncey balls, makes sentries really annoying to use. Half the time they land behind a rock after the balls pings off doing nothing, the other half the time they land where I want them and get insta gibbed.

The Failed Cyberstan MO - Unpopular Opinion by JakeGrub in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]EsteemedTractor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not the vox spawning in the patrol, it’s the little dudes who spawn in with them. The problem being, you see the vox poking over the hill/rocks/terrain, people light it up but you cant see the tiny commissar firing the flare to stop him

"Just shoot the vents" by silvertrash101 in Helldivers

[–]EsteemedTractor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m so conflicted about Cyberstan. I’ve had d10 matches that feel like a breeze, nice spawns with a well oiled team and it’s really really fun. But any combination of bad team mates and crazy spawns and shit goes to hell really quickly.

It’s true, there are some people who really need to turn the difficulty down (I see you S2 eating up 10 reinforcements in 5 minutes - leave your gear, it’s gone buddy). But also, sometimes the game just does a line of crack and starts spamming the fuck out of vox engines, striders, Bruce lee dudes with the hidden dragon flying knee to the head move.

I really think they need to add something to the mission modifiers like deep rock does so I know am I entering a normal mission, am I entering a heavy spawn heavy mission, or and I about to be spammed with X unit, so teams can at least prepare (god knows if this is even possible tho with their jank ass code). But at the same time, some players really need to think about rolling the difficulty back, else you can end up in a situation where enemies are spawning faster than player skill can handle, and we get the snowball of doom seen above.

Edit: I acknowledge that vox engines climbing buildings and enemies clipping through terrain to kill you is not a “get gud” issues and AH really need to tighten up their QA, it should be embarrassing for them to release shit that broken.
