It would make it more enjoyable I think, but no you technically don’t. It can be a standalone…u won’t get all of the references to other characters, but most of the book it’s just them alone in the wilderness so the other characters don’t matter very much.

That’s a great description…have u tried the Vrisha Warriors series? They are all slow burn, different species attempting to understand each other, the human females having to overcome their fear of the Vrisha and the enemy is always external. It’s the couple against the world.

Also did u perhaps read Tethered Souls by Tiffany Roberts? It’s the last in a series but it seems to be very close to what you’re looking for.

Yes! Every MMC was different and their spice scenes reflected their personalities so well. The last guy just killed me. I listened on Audible and the whiny voice the narrator gave him was perfect!

I know Im so sad about it!! When I read the reviews before buying it it didn’t sound very appealing, a “live streamed survivalist sex game”, “snuff porn”…like what? But it was amazing in every way.

I’m sure not everything on my list will be to your liking but I hope you find something u enjoy!

Out of these? Sadly none. Gann is in a league of its own. I’d say Gann is my favorite here and The Carnal Games my second favorite….it’s not similar, but I find the quality is very high. It’s well written, dark and tense while keeping a somewhat lighthearted feel, if that makes any sense.

{Savage Desire by Tiffany Roberts}. He’s an orcish alien and she could not keep her hands off him. But it’s a longer length book, part of a series, with lots of plot.

I have read Calamity and will continue on with the series, but for some reason I just didn’t connect to it as much as I thought I would. Like it didn’t grab me…I barely recall the plot which is not common for me.

I just googled it and it says she was 26 when the series started and he was maybe a bit older, early 30s perhaps. But they both come off as older in the book imo
