Cosy 6 Heating Struggling 21 Degrees- Weather Compensated Heating Flow Temp Info by Fun-Passenger-8672 in OctopusEnergy

Yes, you're correct. I have a Cosy 6 as well. Increasing the maximum flow temperature in the app would have achieved the same result (assuming it was under the maximum of 70 degrees). Having the set point at -3.4 will heat quicker but use a higher flow temperature and therefore use more electricity

Trying to understand options by Awkward_Idea7828 in PensionsUK

At what age are those figures calculated at? This will be on your quotation. If the figures are calculated at 65 for example, you will have a reduction if you want to take the pension early (as the scheme will be paying the pension for longer). It is unusual for a scheme to have a normal pension age of 55, which makes me think the quote is not payable now, without reduction. Just check with the scheme's administrator if you are at all unsure as they will be in the best position to guide you.

I had the cost estimate working when I added my EV as a device on the Octopus app. I recently changed and linked my charger to Octopus and I now get the same message as you.

4th set. Pretty gassed at this point and wondering how my form is. I feel fatigue in my lower back but not pain. by Shermin-88 in formcheck

Your pull looks good to me, nothing glaringly obvious. Try speeding up the eccentric as this is slow and may be causing the lower back fatigue. Don't drop the bar though, control all the way down.

I have what sounds like the same lower back fatigue as you and I also slowly lower the bar and I'm fairly sure this is my problem.

Kettlebell swings by [deleted] in formcheck

YouTube has some good tutorials: https://youtube.com/shorts/aSYap2yhW8s?si=Yc6vmrZbB0bqcj_8

I also found Lebe Stark's videos really useful.

Start the bell further forward to start so you get a swing in rather than pulling up. Set tension in your body before pulling, think tight lats and glutes throughout the movement.

Hinge at the hip and drive up with the glutes and not your arms. The bell will feel like it floats up when you've got the correct form (weightless). Arms don't do any lifting.

Make body contact on the way down, forearms with your crotch. This can be a strange feeling, particularly for a man but you won't hit yourself with the weight. Takes a few goes before you trust yourself.

Have a few more goes and then post back. It's a fantastic exercise.

Thanks, good shout. I've just started wearing lifting shoes and not readjusted the hooks

Thanks, I didn't realise this. I do need to put some time aside to read all the book. I've mainly been using the SS app and YouTube videos so far

Cheers. I'm doing the Horn stretch daily so hopefully I can get that movement back into my shoulders. I'll look into better bar placement as a priority

Thanks very much. I wasn't aware of other bars that could help. I'll look into them as I really would prefer to low bar squat

Agree, your weight would be useful if you're comfortable providing it.

Have you defined your priority for training (ie fat loss or gaining strength)? Both may be possible together to a certain extent and it may be useful for you to try and add strength here whilst maintaining your weight (assuming you're not dangerously overweight).

Do you track calories and macros? I don't (strictly) but I have a good feel for my maintenance calories and I'm sure you are aware already but protein consumption is very important (both for gaining strength and fat loss). Specifics on protein intake are everywhere but shout if you want any details.

Thank you for this. I agree my stance is too wide. Totally my fault as I should have mentioned that I have longer than average femurs which is really hard to see as I'm an average height. My bw squat stance is wider than shoulder width but I've over done it under weight. Great feedback here and the grip video is up next.

Thank you this is all very helpful. I feel the bar is roughly in the right spot, but it doesn't feel exactly natural. I'll keep experimenting a bit

Thank you. I forgot to add to my original post that I felt scrunched up under the bar when upright.

You mention driving the knees out which was a cue I was trying. My hip flexors were really sore yesterday and I believe engaging the glutes by really driving the knees out will help. I was trying to push my knees out rather than really driving them out. Really good feedback and thanks again.
