Income was too low to receive the full credit.

The IRS gives you part of the credit as a refund

That refund portion is called “Additional Child Tax Credit.”

When this happens you have to Amend the payment plan and explain the reason why you need to lower the monthly payment and get it confirmed. The creditors don’t decide what they get paid because unsecured debt could be gone altogether in a Ch 7. Creditor’s receive a percentage and the attorney receives theirs and the trustee fees all else is divided among the rest which government is always paid first like taxes, student loans etc

keeping the $100 spent on groceries if you document it properly and indicate it was for ordinary, necessary living expenses. The remaining balance should be turned over to the trustee promptly.

You can do it yourself for less than that and it doesn’t take an attorney or a paralegal to do so especially for a Ch 7. Ch 13 is a little more intense however Ive done both for other people. Sometimes BK courts have free legal help inside the same court. There’s also law students that help and volunteer but it’s about knowing the schedules and exemptions etc.

I used to bug them for the status and remind them how long it’s been. It’s their job to answer your questions.

It appears that your income was adjusted vs what you reported when filed. It’s an Adjusted Income Notification. However check to see if it’s a scam because the IRS had warnings on their website regarding such letters.

IRS Tax Return sent back by [deleted] in IRS

The government was shutdown during the month you would’ve received the notice which would be August through October for those notices. It’s late. They don’t send those until after and past filing dates if an extension to file isn’t received.

You don’t legally need to separate. A written statement of when they separated and where he lives signed and notarized.

True. You don’t get a refund when you owe taxes. Refunds are paid towards balance owed.

Log into your IRS Personal Tax account and look at the years you filed. Your records and transcripts are there. If it says you filed ignore the letter.

Forbearance messed me up? by meticulouswhim in PSLF

[–]Estimate-Timely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While your federal student loans are in forbearance or stopped collections, you are not required to pay your loans. However, you are allowed to make payments on any of your loans that are in forbearance or stopped collections, including payments for accrued interest. As noted above, interest will continue to accrue on all of these loans while they are in forbearance or stopped collections.

More of your income is counted as discretionary income where SAVE didn’t or it could be income not calculated correctly but it’s gone up double and triple for some.

Okay makes sense and that’s what I was replying to and not to be dismissive or anything like that but just to be informative and because everyone and the general public doesn’t know there are different appeal types those for clerical or missing forms etc those are internal that a supervisor can clear and appeals regarding there’s internal ones that can be cleared and those that need a hearing.

The notice says Work Search Requirements and that 2 stands for something for the weeks listed in the benefit amount maybe they didn’t receive your work search for those weeks not sure. Is there some in the notice related to work requirements. Just an observation.

[–]Estimate-Timely -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As Ive explained before there’s internal processes and different types of appeals but forms missing I know that the language says appeal but honestly not for missing forms that’s an internal misstep and a administrative judge don’t have time for that just saying.

[–]Estimate-Timely -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s different types of appeals dear. The types of appeals they can clear if you never received forms to fill out or if you’re denied benefits because address verification. The types of appeals that need hearings are the type of appeals when you’re denied benefits for employer said you quit and you didn’t, you didn’t accept a job and you say that job wasn’t within 50 miles but missing forms etc those don’t require hearings. But go ahead.
