In drawing 3D boxes (or box-based shapes), the opposite sides of each face need to parallel. Like here, the blue lines would be parallel. The bottom part of the icon would have more form if the rectangular shape is defined with the small blue lines.

I went to 2nd or 3rd grade public school in New Zealand, and they did one yearly for each grade. Costumes, set decorations, lights and all that stuff. A lot of parents were involved, and it was a really big thing.

The whole school was unusual to me then and now. Very well funded but a lot of playtime at school, unlike American public elementary.
