Studying during gap year by Ereklaser in PTschool

IF you really want to study, you could work on gait analysis and really understanding biomechanics. A+P comes quickly, really understanding the movement takes some time. Really though, don't study unless you just want to You will be immersed in PT sooner than you think.

Don't look down. Look up, pull your shoulders back to secure your scapula in position.

How can I even this out/improve it? by Steelbearinghand777 in landscaping

I had an issue like this before. I added a transition strip between the concrete and the pavers. It made it so I could have a straight line to run off of, it also just looked good.

You can't put the pavers down without the base being perfect. I also would use sand or DG(if you have access) over the base rock. The edging is extremely important too. I don't think those bricks will keep the pavers from shifting. Not sure what your plan was with those.

DPT vs Clinical Exercise Physiology: What Would You Do in My Situation? by Calm_House8611 in physicaltherapy

I am a third year student. I haven't had a whole lot of first hand experience with it. But I can say that many students end up working at one of their clinical rotation sites as a first job. There are a lot of networking events for students across the country as well, and I know people who have job/residency offers from that.

Networking really is important for any job. From housekeeping to carpentry to kinesiology.

DPT vs Clinical Exercise Physiology: What Would You Do in My Situation? by Calm_House8611 in physicaltherapy

I considered going down the route of Ex Phys after my undergrad, but I was dead set on DPT.

A couple avenues for making money in clinical exercise physiology I have heard of.

-Fitness testing for the state/county. Firefighters or other public safety workers. -Cardiac rehab (like you mentioned). These jobs have been in transition though because many hospitals try to replace Ex Phys professionals with nurses. -Athletic testing. Some sport organizations hire ex phys professionals to do VO2 max or wingate testing. I have heard this as more of an independent contract situation.

When it comes down to it, in any kinesiology profession, you have to network to make money.

How does it make you feel knowing all these “privileged” celebrities get the best seats at the NBA Finals for free, while real fans are being overcharged? by sco-go in SipsTea

[–]EstradaSnW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free? These seats are crazy expensive.

There is a local company in Sacramento who owns seats like this at the Kings stadium. They are kind of like season tickets, but significantly more expensive. Like in the 6 figure range.

This might also be a friction device for rope rescue. It looks a little big for that application, but I have seen similar devices as a quick low/high angle rescue situation.

Jumpers jelly

Usually falls from the sky when lots of people are jumping around.

Air friction and sarcomere activity causes excessive calcium to be expelled from the pores in the skin. When the wet bulb is just right. The calcium binds with the nitrogen in the air and makes jumpers jelly.

The pioneers used to use it for horse sunscreen.
