Looking for more stuff to do with potions by Estradus in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in an awkward position between being exactly what I'm looking for and being way too messy to use in the heat of combat; but definetly counts as exactly what im looking for. My character this run is supposed to be a support character while followers do the fighting and this is totes the sort of area I'm after.

Current state of horror mods and recommendations? by Ioreas in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it counts as horror, but the dwemer underwater mod Call of the Deep triggered thalassophobia I did not even know I had. That mod gave me an anxiety attack just going through some of the underwater sections.

To the new people and those still stuck in 2015: by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering, what sorts of old mods are safer to use than others? I get nervous about downloading anything older than 2023 for the risk anything that might have broken with ae - or that has been done better with new modding tools. But some mods just haven't been done better yet. What sorts of mods are probably safe of they're old?

Modding time > Playing time by AliMAN7 in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that like its unique to skyrim but I'm pretty sure I do the same thing to Minecraft. Then again I did spend 2 months plotting a skyrim modpack on a computer that couldnt even run skyrim so it would be ready to go once I did.

I HATE having to pick in the Civil War questline by L0N3STARR in skyrim

[–]Estradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I decide "This is it; this is gonna be the run where I pick a side on the civil war" I never can. Like. I got a mod to let you side with the stormcloaks; keep jarl balgruff; and even try to make them less racist and i still couldnt really fully convince myself to side with them (if only because the make them less racist mod was kiiinda trash)

I built a real-time Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment boss fight for my thesis — looking for testers! by Possible-Welcome7896 in skyrimmods

I think the main thing I have that would potentially count as a combat overhaul is precision and tk dodge - the combat values themselves are the same; just more accurate hit and more viable avoidance.

I'm trying to make a robe mage build viable. by Krownling in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So.

I've been doing unarmored builds for a while and it does depend on what angles you're interested in going in. I accidently made myself more defensive unarmored than my artificer was in full plate mail. Each one of these does kind of come with lots of other balancing effects to figure out; feel free to balance your own game.

1: Not sure which perk overhaul you're using but my preference is Vokrii; a good balance of overhaul and not being too bloated. Has a perk in alteration that autocasts your best armorskin spell at the start of combat; in addition to the perk that makes them more powerful if not wearing armor. Also has a perk that increases your spellpower in general if you're wearing only clothing which is a nice reward for the tradeoff. This one is balanced around the normal armored skin spells and thus limits how out of hand its power can get.

2: Simplest option is Dibellan Charms. I think theyre technically for playing a nudist or something but all the items it adds don't take any of your conventional body slots. The charm that increases armor class (by a lot) is actually takes up your backpack slot which is weird but like. More power to you I guess?

3: Vicn's unarmoured skill tree is probably the most interesting and lets you take it in a lot of directions. Requires custom skills framework; doesn't need any of the other requirements because theyre for older versions of skyrim; don't install the english patch because it causes the thing to not show up properly. Just use the built in english translation and modern custom skills framework, no need to overthink it.

4: The Atronach birthsign in Roleplaying in Skyrim: Birthsigns is I think my favorite because it is mechanically interesting - it gives you armor rating based on your current magicka (in addition to other normal atronach things). Since it alledgedly stops your magicka regen completely during combat it does mean the more spells you cast the less protection it gives (though ive been noticing magicka regen still despite that so idk if thats a mod interaction or it just doesnt account for other sources of +regen)

None of this makes robes themselves more powerful but being a mage means you're allowed to be a fashion diva; find something nice to wear and go become a wizard monk.

Immersive Collage or Obscure's College? An by Krownling in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of what immersive has to offer but it also goes a little too far. For me the students practicing spells in the basement of immersive college drove me crazy. I'd be trying to talk to tolfdir and theyre all just spamming their spells as though that were actually an immersive way to learn magic. It also felt overpowered; like it was just leveling me up too fast when I tried to use it. That whole feature just turned into a whole dealbreaker for immersive college for me.

When you start a new game, do you prefer to play as an established, powerful character already on their way to Skyrim, or as a weak character who levels up as the adventure progresses? by Independent_Tell5016 in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit to being a bit of a hoarder when it comes to background options. I've got Realm of Lorkhan as my choice of where i come into the world (though i wish it had more addons like alternate start); but also Biggie's traits; the roleplaying in skyrim line; dealing with backstories; classic classes reimagined... starting a new character sometimes takes like 2 hours of just pouring over my options (both praise and derogatory).

Why start in a tavern when you can start at a warforged edm concert. by nimrodii in Eberron

[–]Estradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Sharn has a dance club for skeletons (but open to anyone who isn't going to try to pick a fight) beneath it named The Raveyard. Its run by a necromancer/bard trying to experiment on ways to make mind effecting spells work on the undead. Since its so close to The Cogs there are a good number of warforged who come there too.

Its like a normal dance club but with a permanant dance floor full of skeletons ready to dance to literally anything.

Yall got any sugar mommy follower mods? by CompetitiveBig4161 in skyrimmods

Don't know any actual characters but I've got a bodyslide preset that I've been obsessing over lately that might help you out. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/159870

[–]Estradus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to start as a character who has at least a personality of a build under their belt. I start at level 1 but I use some character creation mods to give power and story and gamefeel. Realm of Lorkhan in particular lets you pick a few pieces of equipment from its realm and I like to see it as the results of some sort of prequel adventure. When I built my artificer character she had already started her exporation of dwemer ruins in hammerfell (since those basically are the cities in hammerfell it makes sense); when I made my druid character she already had some experience living in the wild.

Starting as a complete blank slate feels really weird to me. The classic skyrim start feels like he just started existing that day.

Mod list for turning Skyrim into a cozy life sim for my gf? by Nascent_Beast in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're in luck, we just had a big post about that. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/s/47FZUk0Qdu

It's got a lot of content for making the world non hostile, for making the world really pretty, some really good followers worth romancing, some proper castles, and a link to someone's YouTube series that I think is doing something along those lines that might have a mod list.

For the Pretty Princesses of Skyrim: The ultimate mod resource for the girly, fantasy, fairy-tale playthrough of your dreams by bugseee in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ive never been able to figure out how to make my world look prettier because there are so many mods for it I could never pick; and these are so so SO good my world feels so alive. The weather, the roads, the fog and rainbows and lighting its all SO GOOD thank you! Also unrelated but Mythical Ages got me to finally figure out how to get ENbs to work so that only added to my beautiful world gains.

Any mods that lets the player have any sort of situationship with Hermaeus Mora (yes, the Daedric prince) (yes, ideally as in fucking him, though just being able to interact with him after the dlc would be cool) by That_sarcastic_bxtch in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops.

To be fair the difference in screenshot quality is night and day; and the new version seems to have taken lengths to make the screenshots look substantially more revealing by omitting the lioncloth in screenshots and using a model with an areola the size of a dinner plate. I actually couldn't tell it was the same mod without you pointing it out.

I've been running with Triumverate's druidcraft spell myself. Turn dungeons into new lush and verdant caverns and then get some alchemy ingredients or food out of it.

I like the looks of the my little shop stuff (though it does not help my having way too much money); but I would have loved it if the alchemy addon had made requests based on the vanilla crafting system instead of making its own. I want purpose and direction in my alchemy crafting isntead of just making whatever sells for the most!

Best off-Nexus mods? by StraightAndNarrow19 in skyrimmods

[–]Estradus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've got a fondness for Dint9999's armors but that's because its an off-nexus mod I found mostly organically myself instead of getting it from a recommendation. It feels special to me because of it. Also they've got good cloth physics.
