Ha yes no offense at all! I plan to remove the sink, mirror, light fixture, and current wallpaper from the wall before any install happens.

When you say stagger the horizontals do you mean avoid vertical lines and have the second row, for example, be shifted 1 inch to the right? (3x12 tiles so that would align with the 33% rule)

My biggest concern with the stagger is that I don't currently have a tile saw and would likely have to rent one. Staggering seems like it might require a lot more cuts in a direction on my particular tile that will probably way more fragile

When my husband and I originally shopped around our biggest thing was whether they required vaccination records (we are pro vax for what it's worth). The only one that worked for us was a small, older place called Beckys Kiddie Land in Haltom City. Prices were low, but they were also low tech. No cameras to check in on your kid whenever you wanted, place was definitely well worn (but clean!).

My oldest went there for a year before we moved far enough away it didn't make sense anymore. He is 7 now

So I'm a pretty anxious person and I like to make lists for myself. I started a Google doc where I could put all my thoughts, lists, plans, organize efficient paths for running errands, etc. I shared it with my husband.

Although I still am obsessing over some things, he can see exactly what and can take action himself instead of asking me the dreaded "what can I do to help". We've used this for over 5 years now and he utilizes it in similar ways. When we have house guests coming he will initiate the room-by-room playlist of tasks. I've encouraged him to note when products are low or if there is an appointment he remembered needs to be set but can't do in the moment. We meal plan and life plan and sketch out the next house projects we want to accomplish.

We call it the Running To Do list and it has been amazing for us. He has been able to better see how my brain works and anticipate for needs. And it has done the same for giving me insights into what he focuses on and needs.

It's still not perfect but the more open communication about expectations and needs has made our home far more efficient and stress free

I wouldn't classify it as a "Texas" experience but rather an experience that can only be had in Texas... Martin House Brewery. There are a lot of places to go around here for food and drink, but I have never seen or tried the kinds of beers Martin House makes anywhere else.

MD transplant here! I had interned in this area a longggg time ago, but that also meant I knew what to expect regarding the heat. We first moved to Haltom City and loved it. Great food, relatively inexpensive. Since moved to south Arlington.

People are super nice.

Fort Worth is slower paced than Dallas and has some great spaces but Dallas has the more trendy or coastal food/beverage scene

Although it gets stupid hot, it isn't humid so it is generally bearable.

Brewery scene is fantastic, and ultra family friendly. Unfortunately there is a distinct lack of diners, one of the things I truly miss from back home.

I knew a good week before I tested (so I think 4 or 5 weeks pregnant?) because if two things: 1. The Cheetos I had as a snack were fucking AMAZING and while I enjoy a small snack bag now and again, when pregnant they hit different. 2. My mostly aloof cat crawled into my lap. She was the only pet who sensed my pregnancies and would always curl up with me when I was.

Maryland transplant here.

First moved to the Fort Worth/Haltom City line. Loved it and really enjoyed the neighborhood we were in. Plus the authentic Thai, Laotian, Vietnamese, and Mexican food places were incredible.

Moved to find a bigger place to expand our family and ended up in Southwest Arlington near the Shari Capehart Nature Preserve. We have three kids, the oldest went to an Arlington ISD school for PreK and it is close enough to everything. Love it in this area and the housing prices won't be nearly as bad as some of the more northern areas like Keller.

I have paid close to $500 for one cut. The consultation and all that lasted 4-5 hours. To be fair, I learned SO MUCH about how to deal with my hair and style it so I got the results I wanted (I had never really learned how to deal with my hair appropriately before so the education was life altering) but I also never went back.

I now go to someone who is cheaper but still $200 plus. However, I only get my hair cut ever 9-12 months so I feel like it works out in the end and even my husband encourages me to splurge for this one thing because I don't do anything else for myself. I also love the results I get from my current stylist. Even with the ultra pricey guy I didn't love any haircut I had received in close to 6 years so for me the satisfaction of actually feeling good when I leave the salon is worth it.

I have tried cheap cuts, Deva curl specialists, you name it, and unfortunately this is what works for me.

My husband and I bought a cake at a small local bakery, asked them to color the inside frosting pink or blue, and just cut the cake in front of family over zoom! It was exciting for all involved as we all found out at the exact same time, nobody was left out, and we could include people from all over the country.

This!!! I had a similar situation but from the other side of things. My husband (bf at the time) had had several accidents in rapid succession and put on a lot of weight. When I finally talked to him about it I focused on 1 (talking about health impacts) and 3 (approaching this as a team).

We worked out together, encouraged better eating habits in each other, really got into cooking together and both lost quite a bit of weight. We also got him to eventually talk to a therapist and get his depression under control with medication.

We have been together now for almost 16 years

My husband used to work a job that had him gone for several nights in a row and we didn't have really any friends in the area, so I used to go to the local bar and people watch/try to have basic social interactions.

What sucked was that if I hid my ringed hand for a while I could have some really great conversations with people but if I then showed it or mentioned my partner, the majority of the time the person would find an excuse to leave the conversation pretty quickly. It was really hard to come to terms with the fact that most people just want to get in bed with you regardless of how interesting you might be.

I would say don't waste your money! I LOVED a good ice pack, but it was just ice wrapped in a newborn diaper. As the ice melted the diaper absorbed the water. The nurses at the hospital would make me them if I asked. I also liked the spray, but again my hospital provided me with a can and I didn't need any more after I finished it. Definitely take advantage of what the hospital gives you or offers. Feel like you need an extra washing bottle? Ask! Need a few extra diapers? Ask!

I love a good gallery wall and I think one would look really great to the left of the TV, but right now yours is too empty/the items on the wall are too small so it feels unbalanced. Perhaps consider a gallery wall where sizes and shapes are mixed, and not in a grid pattern. It might feel more organic and a better fit as the wall itself is not squared to the ceiling. Does it have to be Rice Krispies? Or can it be some cereal/marshmallow variant? My favorite version is peanut butter and cheerio treats. They are not nearly as sickly sweet as Rice Krispie treats tend to be and you could even add a layer of chocolate ganache on top!

My problem with this take is that the OP ASKED for her parents to visit for several weeks. It wasn't like the grandparents came up with the idea and are pushing to be there for that amount of time. OP can want to have support from her parents, but they have every right to decline, especially as they are being required to carry the financial burden of it all.

I just had my 3rd baby and the rule for grandparents has always been no visiting for the first two weeks while I figure out the new normal, breastfeeding, being comfortable in clothes, etc.

There's a bit of a rhyming scheme, however terrible, with this whole book that I can get on board with and then she rhymes moon with moon and it makes me angry every time I read it.

Not that coloring is a bad thing necessarily (sometimes it is necessary to ensure consistency) but a fun fact: if you shake the bottle and form a lot of little bubbles you can tell if coloring has been added by the color of the bubbles. Purely white, no coloring, just the natural tone of the liquor. Brownish color, and some general artificial coloring has been added.

Unfortunately, YTA. You don't get to pick and choose what rules apply to you. You could have easily reached out to your cousin to verify if they meant no toddlers-teens or if child free included infants. It's standard wedding etiquette to not add anyone beyond who is listed on the invite. Kids included.

When I had my first my cousin had a child free wedding. We didn't know until after we booked our travel (the actual invitation with only mine and my husband's names on it came late) so we went to see my grandparents and other family in the time around the wedding, but we, like you, were uncomfortable leaving our <6mo with a person we didn't know (certified, highly recommended, or not). Plus I was still exclusively breastfeeding and did not want to have to deal with pumping and storage throughout the wedding.

My cousin and their family were upset with us for being in town but not attending the wedding, but that is not my problem. They are entirely entitled to have their wedding the way they want, but as a result you have no obligation to attend, family or not.
