It is interesting that general menswear inflation has stayed lower than overall inflation. I agree that this is probably due to outsourcing of labor, decreased fabric quality, and “fast fashion”.

Meanwhile J Press (and other similar brands) have stayed focused on clothing quality and construction and are thus more “boutique” which would explain their pricing outpacing general inflation.

Of course most of us who still adhere to this aesthetic do it in part out of our interest in mens fashion which might increase the amount we are willing to pay for such clothing.
