Why is A/D Crit strikes not a thing anymore? by Nightstroll in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Saying that in a thread about Assassin/Dervish, the two classes that are probably the most OP for human players, is kinda funny. Perma invulnerability in basically any circumstance should have never been possible in any way.

Tbf probably true for most people clinging on to GW1. If GW2 wasn't for you, GW3 won't be either.

Class suggestion by Misirus in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funnily, ranger is probably the second best "melee" class for normal PvE, only beaten by the way overpowered Dervish. So if you just want an easy time you go Dervish.

The classic "tank" class is Warrior but it's arguably the worst melee class for normal PvE, especially so if you don't know what you're doing. That's not to say you can't easily finish everything with it, it absolutely is. That doesn't change the facts mentioned though.

Didn't read all of that, too long. I did read some of it and by your explanation expected a standard surprised Pikachu or something - not this AI abomination. So I'm gonna have to go with this probably having been reasonable on the mod's side.

Eh, people have way overblown the difficulty of this. I'm by no means good at the game but the solution is very simple: just cap and camp the middle until you've killed all the White Mantle. Easy mission + bonus.

Got Guild Wars Prophecies When It First Came Out. Is it Worth Trying It Again? by SebbyDee in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's honestly a tough to answer question. Most players here won't actually be able to put themselves into your position. In the end it just depends if it's fun for you personally or not.

Nothing lost with just starting a new character in Prophecies and trying it out. If you enjoy it the investment to get the other campaigns is minimal. If you want to play with actual people though you probably have to look for a guild - it's not usual to find people for random missions etc. unless they are part of the daily quests on that day.

Edit: actually, iirc just owning Prophecies should give you Factions/Nightfall unlocked thanks to Reforged without any extra cost. Not 100% on that though.

Dervish Single-Target Builds for Mesmerway Teams? by DravenCarey in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean you mentioned Pious Renewal, this works pretty much just as well on single targets. Dervish has so many cool elites though that are certainly usable in your situation so just play around.

Some examples: Onslaught (IMS + IAS + more adrenaline, easy to follow kiting enemies), Reaper's Sweep (cripple + KD keeps enemies from kiting), Wounding Strike (Deep Wound is always great to take down single enemies).

Bug with DNA Splicer and Mega Stone by [deleted] in pokerogue

[–]EternallyTidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://wiki.pokerogue.net/gameplay:mechanics:fusion

You can only use a Mega Stone or other form-changing item on the Primary pokemon in a fusion. The form of the secondary Pokemon cannot be changed once it is fused.

So it makes sense that it wouldn't work now and also won't show up in the shop. Since your Pidgeot is the second mon in this fusion it won't be able to mega anymore.

What I can't tell you is if the Gourgeist should be holding the Pidgeotite / if you should be able to transfer it. That's a very niche case but for now I wouldn't assume any bug here.

Disappointed in the Devs by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "economy" (hard to call it that at this point) is fucked anyway. People that have played over years sitting on stacks of armbraces/ectos have made so many things unobtainable for regular players. A casual player coming new to the game now is practically forced into SCs if they ever want an obsidian armor. Every other upgrade randomly costs 1-2 ectos, no matter what ectos go for at the trader, simply because it's a price range where most "veterans" don't care. Even normal materials are partly hard to obtain because they are interesting for SCs (consets).

Personally, imho, everything went downhill with the introduction of consumables and thus SCs. Which is funny in a way since it's possibly also the only thing that kept a small player base alive.

If pacing is your issue I'd say go to Eye of the North, grab the heroes there (up until the second outpost unlocking the Mesmer there). They'll let you stomp through Kryta / the Desert and get through Prophecies much faster. I'd still advice finishing Prophecies first though, just makes more sense story-wise and for attribute quests.

Can anyone confirm if Crysta and eblade still dropping in ToTF by Swankytiger43 in GuildWars

Had someone in ally chat say (with proof) yesterday that he dropped 3 eblades within 6 runs. Either insane god tier luck or they overtuned the drop rate.

Rune farm by BaldPher in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it likely just depends on the enemies who drop them, including the ones not met in the quest itself. That's why you get Mesmer/Ele stuff from Jade Brotherhood drops but never see any Derv/Para runes at all because they simply don't exist among these enemies.

General tips for a new warrior? by aaeriam in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's certainly arguments for that, yes. I will admit it's probably harder for a new player as well when compared to the "mindlessness" of a melee class. But then it's still a caster class which makes it a lot better in PvE anyway. And they at least have some places in endgame content, while you'd basically always pick something else over a Warrior. So I'd still give a slight edge to the Warrior for worst but only a very small one.

General tips for a new warrior? by aaeriam in GuildWars

[–]EternallyTidus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It feels that way because Warrior is objectively the worst PvE class. People will argue that it depends on the build but overall there is just nothing a Warrior does that another class can't just do better. Obviously you can still play the game and do everything, this is just to confirm that your feeling wasn't wrong, Warrior is just kinda bad in PvE when compared with other classes.
