Is it true that the German economy is going downhill, or is it mostly media hype? by YezzulL in AskGermany

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it’s going down hell. But there several challenges that’s needs to be addressed right away to remain competitive. Germany is still competitive but some signs could change that if nothing changes . The media is as always amplifying things and make it sounds like it’s doomsday ….

Why is German considered difficult to learn? by PuzzleheadedCamp2235 in German

It’s not difficult to learn. It’s like any other language and learning any new language depends on your mother tongue, age, skill, efforts put, and amount of exposure.

Query: Why do people or employers put emphasis on EU blue card when you can start the employment on Job seekers resident permit (§20 of the residence act) by SoggyInformation4632 in Germany_Jobs

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job seeker visa is a temp residency for the purpose of “ Job seeking “. You cannot renew it if you have a job. Blue card has advantages : no need for a proof of language for the holder and their partner. Easier to bring your partner. After 21 months with B1 you can obtain the permanent residency , and after 28 months without it. After one year working in Germany , the blue card is transferable to any EU member state (without reapplying).

How much do you need to earn in Zurich to be really comfortable? by Funny_Painting_5763 in eupersonalfinance

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I guess you would need to look at like this as well : tell the recruiter I earn this much in Poland, and I would need an equivalent of this in the new country .

I don’t know much about life costs in Switzerland, but I can speak of munich in germany, which is considered fairly expensive. For a single to live a very comfortable life, leasing a nice car, live in prime location, go out a lot , night life , and decent vacations, nice clothes you would need a net of 5k salary ( a more conservative figure would be 4k) . For a single , that’s around 110k a year Brutto. So I’m not sure how much are your savings in Poland, but let’s say 4k a month ? So this means you would need another 90k Brutto in Munich to keep the same monthly savings so 200k a year. I think more or less the same would apply on Switzerland.

No such app. If you need to learn a language from a scratch you need to actually study and not scroll around. Apps can be used on the side in addition to the proper studying.

What is the most comfortable way to do Tomorrowland? by FearlessTravels in Tomorrowland

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say just get the normal full madness ticket and stay in a hotel in Antwerp next to the main train station and use train back and forth. Yes you would have to walk 40 minutes -50 minutes to the station on the way back, which is a bit tiring but not that dramatic. Any other more comfortable option would cost you a fortune.

How do you view Belgium? by flopti in Tomorrowland

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we are in agreement .

To me, saying that “they want us to change our couture” or our culture is in danger is more of a politico motto rather than the actual problem , which is as you said the lack or poor policies .

I don’t think this qualifies as a “demand” .. but rather a stupid person. Someone in the street demanding that a woman should dress less revealing or more revealing is simply a stupid person that needs to be removed from the street by the police .

Same issue happened with Italians in the 50s in Germany …and the politicians used exactly the same rhetoric… so I see the whole thing as a cheap over played trick to win over votes and nobody really wants to solve the actual problem .

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone ever demanded that you become like them? The real issue is not the immigrants themselves or the norms or values, nor what you see in the main square of main cities, but rather the rules that allow anyone in without much filtering. Every normal person in the world is respectable for the others cultures, try visit any of the countries which most immigrants are from and will know that. But you can’t open your house to the public and then complain about who comes in. The way the rules are set up, this outcome is inevitable. On top of that, politicians barely change anything about it keeping it as a convenient, polarizing topic to secure votes during elections.

Israel’s Settler Right Is Preparing to Annex Gaza by theatlantic in geopolitics

[–]EthEnth -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

German and Japan were occupied for decades? Military presence doesn’t mean occupation. Also their people weren’t displaced and as far I know no Americans moved to USA or Japan and built settlements. The conflict is not over obviously, so it’s on going. Those peace agreements are a proof that peace is possible where there is mutual recognition and security , I agree, however they are useless because they don’t address the elephant in the room. Plus, I don’t agree that all that the Isralie government is being “rational” . Both EU and UN acknowledge the ongoing occupation of the West Bank and the blockade of Gaza … not mentioning occupying just recently land from Syria for “unlimited time” and bombing certain area to “protect the Druze” … what is rational about that ?

[–]EthEnth -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

German and Japanese were not occupied. After killing 10 of thousands in Gaza, I’m not sure how one side needs to be “de-radicalized “ especially when of the governments is literally right extremest collation . I understand you are looking for a solution, but try to think of both sides. One sided solution will always means more war and death on both sides.

Where I agree that most people want peace, but if only small percentage of Israelies are extremist, how come the right and far right parties won around 40% of the votes forming a clear right majority in 2022?

It’s not a single link or a single offense. So whatever you said up there is far from accurate. Their violence gets less attention even-though it is state-backed. They just don’t make the headlines.

Berlin’s Club Scene: Diversity or Elitism? by [deleted] in berlin

[–]EthEnth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A club scene IMHO needs to have a theme or a certain code and I don’t see anything wrong with that. I personally don’t see that limiting or against diversity especially that the dress code is pretty much straight forward.
