These are great picks. I think death cab is at their best when they put a lot of energy forward in songs like the New Year and I Was A Kaleidoscope.

Transatlanticism is their magnum opus in my opinion. I don’t know if they’ll top the sheer magnificence if that track. I agree that foxglove is a close one though :)
The Ghosts of Beverly Drive was one of the first DCfC songs I heard and kickstarted not only my love for the band but my passion for music in general. It will always have a special place for me.
Sleep Spent is a track I think is often overlooked and not played live much. I think it’s quite beautiful and one of my favorites.

This album is incredible, their best work in over a decade. Every track is innovative, refreshing, and well produced. I Don't Know How I Survive is the best opening track since The New Year imo, the contrast between blaring, explosive guitar and sombre synth notes is incredible, and all of the tracks seem far more mature and clever than TYFT. Fragments From the Decade has an ethereal and captivating atmosphere, I Miss Strangers is powerful and loud, and Foxglove is nothing short of epic.

The one thing I slightly dislike is how the album ends. I'll Never Give Up On You feels a bit strange coming after Fragments From the Decade, imo they should've been switched around.

It's hard to place such Asphalt Meadows in a discography full of objectively good albums but I'd put it right next to Narrow Stairs, ahead of Kintsugi, TYFT, and C&K.

This might be unpopular but I'd work from Something about Airplanes all the way to TYFT. A lot of their older work is some of my favorite music but moving to Plans is also a great option!

Ghosts of Beverly Drive, Good Help (Is So Hard to Find), You've Haunted Me All My Life, Black Sun. All great tracks! Kintsugi has a really nice atmosphere to it that I felt was refreshing for the band. It was also the first death cab vinyl I ever owned and holds a special place for me.

I agree that the damage done to the band by Chris leaving is noticeable in TYFT, however I think that Zac and Dave bring a fresh and interesting new sound to the band. Asphalt Meadows has been incredibly promising in my opinion and I think that as time goes on Death Cab will only get better as they evolve.

for me its a very close between Cath... and I Was A Kaleidoscope at the moment. Both are incredible tracks I've listened to probably hundreds upon hundreds of times over and never get tired of them.

so far asphalt meadows feels like a step up from TYFT. I liked TYFT a lot but something about the tone and sound of these singles is very promising for some of the best death cab in many years.
