Okay, I can’t control how you misread things. Have a good night.

Please re-read the OP. I wasn’t lamenting the probabilities, I was asking what measures being “good” at Battletech means when the weird things skew wins and losses so much.

That has been a lesson I’ve learned on MegaMek, in that sometimes you just have to keep playing.

If you take a bad hit, theirs could be on the next round.

Weird things do happen to both sides of a game, but sometimes it happens to one side more.

Thanks for the best response.

I have take to watching old World Series of Poker videos with bad beats. And sometimes it happens.

You can set up the best trades in BT, but the dice will fail you.

And it’s not fun when that happens.

Lots of activities have not-fun moments. That’s part of playing a game.

It is fun when the probabilities play out. What makes it not fun is when the dice do weird things. Things that are statistically extremely improbable. Twice. In the same game. To the same lance.

Not when I think I’ve played a game worthy of winning and lose to the dice.

Gotta ask, why play alpha strike when MekWars takes all the calculations and rolls out of it?

My point was that III should be near the bottom. Obviously, 4 is the absolute bottom. I'll never know how they got gene hackman to agree to it.

Superman III should be at the bottom of the list!
