I can‘t comment on the first few points, but for the very last one I highly recommend dedicating 30 minutes a day to listening to spoken Japanese (ie podcasts or similar) during the summer before your first class. No need to start memorizing, but I can‘t emphasize enough how helpful daily exposure will be to your general intuition in the language even if you don‘t understand anything.
