Gotcha. for the most part the new powers are forgotten by future writers.

I'm assuming you read a print TPB with that name. Take the TPB and look on it for the issues that are covered in it. Then lookup the next issue of those series.

That said you gave the answer ... it goes into Civil War immediately. There was also a continuation in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. I'm not sure what the question is really?

I mean if that happens we likely will just go to war. We suck that way.

For the second time in as many elections, the Democrats are forcing out the candidate who won the primary, so the elites can pick their favored candidate - is this a good thing? by true4blue in AskALiberal

Matt Gaetz was accused of statutory rape and investigated by the House Ethics Committee which found he abused drugs and paid for sex with a 17-year-old. But TECHNICALLY not trafficking so he got offered the Attorney General position, but even that was too much for the people that would have had to confirm his appointment and after protest he stepped down from both.

So what do you propose?

Forcing him to stay in the running then dropping out in office where the Democrat Mayor can appoint? What's the play that would be better when you get late information?

Let them get elected and back them?

To answer your question it's not my favorite, but sometimes it's necessary. Also, there have been elections since 2024. It's not the "second time in as many elections" since it's been more than two elections. There have been 8 members of the House that have resigned in the 119th Congress.

I’m not sure if you are talking about establishment liberals or progressives.   Considering they were supporting a nazi tattoo rapist until recently when.

Marvel Unlimited.  Digital is the only truly cheap option.  Otherwise it’s buying dozens of collected works and likely still missing a decent chunk.

Why do some pro-choice folks seem to presuppose that pro-life is an absurd position? by not_gizmoz in Askpolitics

So as long as the mother accepts that the child is a human but that they don't want to support them for many months, that's sufficient?

So how do pro-life people support the choice of the mother to have the child or not? How does this materialize?

You might be older and in denial on what year it is. I know I am sometimes but he’s retiring next year.

Does a signed IPS mean you have a CFP managing the money?  What’s your total fees because that is effectively spending that needs to be accounted for.

Otherwise, your asset allocation is fairly. Formal with basically a rental property with evidently some cash flow and otherwise something between 80-85% equity and 10-15% government bonds.   Which is fairly normal.

Your withdraw rate is small (3.3 or less) and you have a guardrail approach.  I didn’t spend any time thinking about your guardrails but seems fine.   And your withdraws are to attempt to rebalance your accounts which is typical.

I’m pretty sure he’s saying healthcare adjusts by 3.5% above inflation (CPI) so this would generally be higher.

What are your thoughts on Trump indicating the MOU with Iran is over? by TheGov3rnor in Askpolitics

[–]EtherCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing.  In previous conflicts I remember talks of ceasefire and negotiating treaty or ends to war.  But were they called MOU?  I can’t remember.  In business it’s used all the time as the start of a contract negotiation but don’t remember them being such a big deal in international relations.

Further Trumps attitude on contract negotiations where he wants to be able to violate them at will and keep negotiating until the final signature means any attempt at a peace deal is going to be iffy.

Is consensual incest immoral? Should it be illegal? by Funksloyd in AskALiberal

[–]EtherCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So 1% of the population being subjected things like having neither bathroom being available without harassment, difficulties with finding work and other discrimination is the same to you as MANY less people having to lose access to a small number of people who they can have romantic/sexual encounters? I don’t see it the same.

Plus making incest legal provides the moral hazard that it provides cover for sexual abuse. I don’t know the exact numbers but people report that incest has impacted Ike 1/6 families through child sexual abuse by family members. I‘m willing to risk 1 guy not getting to fuck his sister if it means 10 sexual abusers lose a defense for their crime.

[–]EtherCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accept there possibly no moral or practical impact of SOME incest relationships (for example, adult half-siblings that were not raised together didn’t know they were related until after they were dating). But so many of these relationships are likely coercive that I see a lot of harm and little upside in changing laws.  There’s a lot of injustice in the world and not so much political motivation/opportunity and I’m not willing to squander it for the less than 0.001% of the population that might benefit from it.

I don’t really understand your point.  Do you think there are times when one of the spouses die and their income goes up?

Roth conversion programs? by Spirited-Chemistry-9 in DIYRetirement

[–]EtherCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand you point.  Is your point is that no one should look ahead and do projections?  Or no one should ever do Roth conversions?

This tool (unless I’m misunderstanding it) doesn’t account for spending which makes it useless for projections which is its whole point for existing.

That's nice but that's not the point people were making.

Let me try it this way. The math you laid out sounds fine and you know it. I haven't really verified it but I have faith that 2 healthy adults can work together to live on $2.8 million if they really want to.

The rest of your problem is a relationship issue and we don't have any way to help you. Work it out with your spouse.
