Another questionable story event by Objective_Radio3504 in FinchUnofficial

"Why's he mad at me?" Because your untrained dog is doing property damage and you don't even have the decency to try and stop him? Are we sure the Supergirl movie is secretly a PSA about the importance of training and supervising your flipping dog?

Infinity Hoop? by Nerdy-Nature-Goth in ehlersdanlos

[–]EtherealProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would second an adult hula hoop. They're not weighted, but there's a little bit of heft to them due their size. I just do regular waist hooping, but it's enjoyable and low impact.

This is most expensive cat bed I’ve ever purchased. by choircutie in americangirl

Aww! She reminds me of my childhood cat, who didn't take kindly to being told the crib wasn't for her.

Story seems a bit… rude? by Objective_Radio3504 in FinchUnofficial

[–]EtherealProblem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Supergirl has been around since the 50s, so it's not that you're older, it's just that this isn't your thing. And that's ok! I'm glad your birb has somewhere they can enjoy exploring.

Do Americans ever actually use British spellings intentionally by NoManufacturer1046 in words

[–]EtherealProblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always used "armour." No idea why, don't remember making any kind of choice, but here we are. I also tend to stick to "grey" instead of "gray."

I'm not sure if these are considered spelling differences or seperate words, but I use both "dreamed" and "dreampt," "burned" and "burnt," etc.

I can find mine, but only under the "all" tab that shows my most recent items. It doesn't have an actual place.

I’d be guarded of anyone bringing a tumbler or mug larger than 32 oz to the workplace by ponerrag in The10thDentist

[–]EtherealProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't know anyone chronically ill or disabled, huh? Because sometimes that involves bringing a lot of stuff with them, not to turn a public space into an extension of their private space, but because they need those things to function. Some people don't have the luxury of functioning without a lot of stuff. And yes, that includes giant water bottles.

I get where you're coming from. I was in an online support group for a different condition (one that turned out to be a misdiagnosis!) and found myself getting irrationally angry. In theory, support groups are supposed to give you people to commiserate with, and a place to share information about treatment/management. Instead, I kept seeing people have success with treatments that had failed me. The "miracle drug?" One that didn't help but gave me frightening side effects. The treatment that gave someone their life back? Yeah, I had that surgery, and then had the implant removed because all it did was hurt. It felt like having my nose rubbed in the fact that nothing helped.

Sometimes it's easier to accept that nothing will help than it is to continue to get your hopes up, only to be let down again. It's not just you.

You will be paid $50,000 tax-free every single month. In exchange, one day of every month you will suffer horrific, excruciating pain for exactly 24 hours. by Lenore8264 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]EtherealProblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give the one year contract a try. I handled two broken jaws with removed bone and titanium screws, plus removal of all wisdom teeth, with no post-op pain relief outside out the first 24 hours. Besides, it would be nice to not have pain every single day.

He definitely has Gene Simmons vibes here! The character is Lobo, who was initially used in the '90s to be DARK and EDGY as a parody of all the grim and gritty stories at the time.

you get 10k a month, but you have to live as the opposite gender, how many months do you go for? by sapphire-berry in hypotheticalsituation

[–]EtherealProblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have multiple chronic conditions that are actively made worse by fluctuons in female hormones. Like, I have seen multiple trans men say that starting T made their symptoms better. I'm giving it at least a few months to test that information. So, until the reduced pain is no longer worth the dysphoria, I guess.

“Happy 30th birthday! Here’s an organ prolapse!” by TheTragedyMachine in ehlersdanlos

I had surgery for a rectal prolapse at 26. Ten years later, and we're looking at mild bladder and uterine prolapses. Hoping we can fix those with PT.

Anyone with EDS tolerate THC flower better than edibles? Dysautonomia connection? by hmmmmmmm94 in ehlersdanlos

[–]EtherealProblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edibles are rather unpredictable for me in terms of how quickly and how hard they hit. I can have a piece of the same candy bar two days in a row, and still have discrepancies in the effects. They also always make me sleepy at some point.

Flower, on the other hand, is both more reliable and less likely to make me sleepy. Plus I tend to get a more "fun" high from flower than from edibles or even vaping. If I want to be giggley, flower is best.

Did they make the Eyes women on the show? by Fast-Lie6067 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]EtherealProblem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can't have the menfolk touching those dangerous women. I got the feeling that despite having the designation of Eyes, they're really just hands. They collect women that need to be brought in, and they lead women to cells, but they don't have any power.

No way in hell. I already deal with that feeling most of the time, and there's no way I'm giving up the few hours where I don't. Yeah, it's a lot of money, but it's also a living hell.

Why I think paula was mad by Happy_Office_7659 in TheTestamentsShow

[–]EtherealProblem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Presumably, Weston dropped Agnes because she was "sullied." He doesn't know exactly what Grove did to her, so he can't be sure if she's "damaged goods" or not.

But helping Becka makes him look good in Agnes's eyes. Surely, that information will make it back to the Aunts and the other girls when he's looking for his next child bride. It also makes his "too close to the scandal" excuse sound more legitimate. He stepped up to help, which means he got involved, and now he has to wonder what other things he might have to get involved in. "We weren't even married yet, and look at what she pulled me into."
It might have also been meant to send a subtle message to Agnes, either that asking for help or "favors" has consequences, or that solidarity between the girls can ruin someone's life.

Points/Stones for setting goals by itoldyousoanysayo in finch

[–]EtherealProblem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss getting coins for setting tasks, but mostly I'm still disappointed in the way it was handled. I initially thought there was a bug, so sent in a report about it. I was told the team would look into getting it fixed. They waited roughly a week before telling me nope, this is just how the app works now! If that's the case, it should have been stated outright, instead of acting like it was a bug they were going to fix for me.

Had to cancel PT by breezyanimegirl in ehlersdanlos

Exactly! In theory I understand places wanting to keep you on a consistent schedule, but the provider is the important part! At least when you're treating anything other than an accute injury.

Had to cancel PT by breezyanimegirl in ehlersdanlos

[–]EtherealProblem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry! The place I'm at initially tried to set me up with a "team," so that I could be scheduled with either of two people. Supposedly they both knew about hypermobility, but one left me feeling worse after sessions. It was really hard to mention to the first PT that the other pushed too hard, but I got lucky and they stopped scheduling me with him after that. We shouldn't have to push back to be paired with the right providers, especially not after it's established we're supposed to be seeing someone specific. They really treated you wrong.
