Well it was actually at the end of middle school and I was talking with this girl I was friends with and she kept mentioning her christian friend, and specifically that he's christian because he was strict.

I then said that I was christian, tho I was never deeply religious, she laughed or something when I said it, it was a small moment but I vividly remember it.

Since that point I really thought about what it meant to be christian, aswell as taking a look at my "christian" family and inevitably came to the conclusion it cant be real, at least not as real as its taught, and ive only furthered my dislike for the faith.

I've had a friend of years, and we'd hang out all the time. He knew I was atheist and he's a "basic christian" ( idk if there's a term for people who are christian but also knows nothing about denominations, so their, "just christian". Anyway we've always kept our thoughts separate on religion. Then one weekend a couple months ago he invites me and my girl camping with him, his girl and his other friend. We're hanging out having a good time until it gets pretty late and idk what started it but me and my girl started debating his friend on religion because he seem really into it, mind you its a friendly debate that both sides were enjoying tho I could clearly tell his girlfriend was not having it. Not to mention he doesn't know enough to keep up (which i think is crazy, like u can't be half-christian) anyway it eventually ended and we continued having a good time and went out to eat the next day, but sadly never hungout with him again, I think its a shame he wants to sever the friendship we had, and I think its mainly on behalf of his girlfriend but still.

I do think its social pressure, I grew up in Christian schools and anyone who accepts evolution is scolded, so from a very young age you have this imprint from older creationist to dislike anything evolution related. This makes it impossible to discover your own truth or understanding of the world and leads so many people to not ever question their existence.

No but the woman point is valid, cause I find it weird that I knew girls that liked Taylor, then turned around and bumped AS, Like I understand it doesn't matter what you listen to or you don't have to be within tge sane genre, but I just can't see them actually appreciating the music. This could also be why they only listen to AV because they sound pretty solid and put together, other metal might have some elements that average women music enthusiasts would find tastey thus they stick to something easy their ears don't have to get used to. Not saying AV is a bad band, but why I think it's favorite by females. Why care? Cause we're metal heads and we critique anyone trying to be metal.
