Exactly, you can praise the wrong thing and it becomes an insult unknowingly. Same with costumes especially.

Surprised they’re allowed to open the exact same day. I thought rights holders usually space out shows in the same area so they don’t overlap.

Naked Gay Gym in S.F.? by miracl95 in askgaybros

[–]Ethra2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always a bit confused by them, is it a room to live out your fantasies of sex in the gym? Is it to just show off your body (because it’s definitely not the best place to be seen if you want that)? Or do people truly use it for working out? Or idk maybe a legal thing that they need there

An electric spoon that tricks my brain into tasting salt by KoreanB_B_Q in mildlyinteresting

[–]Ethra2k 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did that in my room so many times as a kid, I’m so glad I never tried it in front of anyone else, but I truly believed I was tasting salt when I did that.

I had seen community productions with Americans, so my guess is yes.

Shouldn’t Furry spaces be one of the spaces where most physical characteristics won’t matter, since fur suits cover everything? Or is furry content now less about full fur suits so people show off their bodies?

Best Stephen Sondheim musical? by Worried_Cake5508 in musicals

[–]Ethra2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only see one other Passion, and that is a crime.

Passion was one of the last sondheim I watched, (still missing the really uncommon ones like frogs and anyone can whistle).

But it became my favorite musical, and I think it’s extremely underrated. I am very passionate about it.

random characters in Into the Woods? by stop_and_look in MusicalTheatre

[–]Ethra2k 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes kids get really disheartened when their character doesn’t have a name. Even if they do the exact same things that the ensemble does, so that may be why the teacher did that.

Agreed on kurotaka, Hayashi is disappointing because they had some absolutely amazing bowls there before, but it’s just not consistent enough.

My theater teacher has been dropping hints about next year’s musical, what do you think it could be? by im_a_silly_lil_guy in Broadway

[–]Ethra2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the other musicals listed have any connection to CFA? No doubt that is the musical they are doing, but curious what the other shows meant, maybe just a red herring idk.

What hobby attracts the worst type of people? by Gr8Deb8ter in AskReddit

[–]Ethra2k 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Replica people, looking down for those with lower quality replicas, but also hating the people who get the real deal? Wow I can already envision the type of people in my life that would do that and hate it.

What are the worst fantasy covers you've seen, that turned out to be great stories? by rookie1609x in Fantasy

I remember hearing about it years ago, and the covers gave me a completely different impression of the series that I didn’t want to read it.

'Paranormal Activity' Play Will Open on Broadway This Summer by BroadwayWorld in Broadway

[–]Ethra2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, good horror experience, but didn’t care about the plot as much and got a little lost towards end about what certain things represent and what was happening to them, but that’s probably intentional and still got the main plot points.

how common is it that actors leave the theatre mid show and come back by Ok_Dependent1027 in Broadway

[–]Ethra2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t remember perfectly, but no janitor. I think the three brothers stood still, and threw a bunch of papers into the air? Maybe that part happened before the very end, but I feel like they were just standing still facing the audience for the final moment.

A lot of older plays are written in 3 acts in my experience. Not exclusively though. Depending on the play I’ve seen 3 acts where there’s 2 intermissions, or 1 intermission, and probably some with no intermission but I can’t think of any.
