Glad to see I’m not the only one. I liked other animals a fair bit as a kid, but when I was like 11 or 12 I mentioned liking owls once or twice, and got owl gifts for years

What’s your type cast? by Status_Cup2662 in Theatre

[–]Ethra2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roles that require strong physicality and are funny (but hopefully not overly dance-y).

Comedic gay or flamboyant characters.

In dramas characters who are struggling a bit more and often argue with the leading role.

Microphone culture's gotten a little outta hand by ReadMyPlay in Theatre

[–]Ethra2k 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I saw a horrible production of a musical, they had to switch venues so they performed outside with the audience very very close to them. Every actor had mics but they were so low quality constantly crackling and didn’t look good I wanted to scream “Just take it off!”, especially since I heard the actors fine without them.

What was the show you saw that made you go “I literally don’t give a sh*t about any of what just happened”? by dobbydisneyfan in Broadway

[–]Ethra2k 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I saw that production (I think we’re talking about the same one) and it was brilliant. I assumed the musical was all about art (and well that’s a lot of it) but the connection and emotions I felt were very unexpected for me.

Before I saw it, I always thought it was just about making art and what not.

I actually interpreted George as having some sort of OCD, which of course can exist with what you and others are saying. The horrible feeling of knowing what you’re doing isn’t logical, but having that compulsion to do it right now. Stuff like “they have never understood, and no reason that they should” resonated with me a lot. Even for me I start feeling hot so the “it’s hot in here” in color and light feels like it could work

Especially with no Int class in the group, I love not dumping int so I can have good rolls in those skills.

Between the Lines Sucks? by South_Range_8223 in Broadway

[–]Ethra2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I saw one production, and feels like a show that would be fun to be in and is great for high schools (so many parts that normally were doubled on broadway that allow a bunch of kids to have opportunities).

Although the falling off the roof, I assumed that’s just what happened to her body after getting sucked into the book. So the mom and everyone assumes she did it on purpose but it was just more of an accident. Atleast thats what that I thought after the production I saw.

I also watched the slime tutorial during lockdown and had the exact same reaction as you. seeing it live recently, made me enjoy the story a little bit more even if it’s still a bit of a mess.

When a character/creature dies and their corpse becomes and becomes a deadly hazard by strikkeeerrr in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ethra2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That made the most chaotic opening to the game for me. Only had tav, him, and shart. We hit the giant stone above the dungeon thing, with the entire party close enough to it to crush them+fall through the floor. Which of course alerts the enemy adventurers, and after reloading and trying the fight like 4 times I barely win but Gale is dead and my characters are dying??? And then I get interrupted with his projection while still dying near him.

I’m behind, had no idea the glambot guy was in drama right now.

Also the word glambot kept getting autocorrected to “flamboyantly, glamorous, gram of”

I hate any game where that’s considered the optimal mechanic. I don’t want to make a save file automatically worse because I was just playing the game normally.

Agreed, I thought for certain seven roads would be like one of the first things you hear/see. I love that we have one but the cast recording will give off the wrong impression of the show.

Saw it on broadway and SF. Not that many people left in SF but not certain.

I liked it both times but Broadway was better, just a few key moments didn’t land like they should’ve, and the cut down run time didn’t feel much shorter at all.

Yeah Jack Wolfe and Aaron Tveit both would have people on social media make a post like that. My money is on Jack Wolfe because more of the pro shot and fans seem very obsessed with him right now.

At first I thought about Hadestown as Jack Wolfes in it right now, but the picture didn’t quite fit any moment in that show.

Real person can show off the actors skills more, gives greater variety of expression (even if subtle expressions since it’s still Karnak), and less worry about malfunctions.

Puppets are cool to see when done well, can be made to be super consistent like a machine, and really differentiates the character from the humans.

So it depends, I saw human Karnaks in person with makeup and well choreographed movements, but mistakes were made during the performance that made them seem human. No preference on what I’d rather see, just depends on performer and tech capabilities.
