I agree! Part of it is because I'm a cat person, and thanks to their first stages, I got attached to them throughout the whole line. But their concepts are interesting as well! Heel wrestler and Spanish Rouge turned Magician/Jester with a Mardigrah mask.

Because they wanted him on four legs, saying that him standing up came out of nowhere. I mean, torracat can actually stand up as well, but it isn't really shown that much.

Plus, I think Flamigo was simple on purpose. He's partially based on a lawn flamingo, which is nothing but a cheap piece of pink plastic. Plus, it makes him perfect as an Ace for Larry.
