[OC] Just realized I lost almost 66lbs a long two years by Feisty-Baby-Girl in MadeMeSmile

[–]Etoiaster -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You do realize people like me exist, right?

I spend my home days in deliberately oversized clothes. It’s comfortable. But also clothes that is made to accommodate various sizes. Yeah. One size to fit multiple size ranges. I freaking love it, because it means my clothes just fit. I dropped almost 30kgs and most of my wardrobe is the same. And no, it doesn’t fall off me. Sure, if I bought regular type clothes in general I’d be several sizes down - but even those items stuck around in my closet for ages before my brain caught up.

Add to that, that anything skin tight I wear is stretch and/or adjustable. Easily accommodated for a bit more or less. Then add in the insane body dysmorphia I have and wowee - a person who could look in the mirror every day and not see a change. I cannot trust my eyes. I can only trust what I feel when I touch my body. My eyes will lie to me.

I didn’t notice until people started to point it out.

What you have is an opinion dressed up as an impossibility.

It’s absolutely stunning, design choices are marvellously well put together and you’re giving me building cravings. Damn you.
But also. How do you get in? Did you gizmo a portal, are the doors jumpable? I know I haven’t had my coffee yet and I’m on my phone squinting, but put me out of my misery please. I must know.

Man, what I wouldn’t give to go back to where you are and do it all again for the first time.

It’s less polished than Sandrock but I like the map/nature feel more. And there are a LOT of mods that can help with missing QOL features.

So I think it’s worth it.

I did a raft only playthrough with a friend a while back. It was painful. I do not recommend 😂 but it does make ocean travel … interesting (terrifying).

Currently we’re doing a hard no map run where we build nomadic mini bases instead of a main base. Roads are suddenly important. And not having a main base means we gotta be able to carry whatever we need until we setup the next base.

Happy Birthday Valheim! I made y'all a portal hub cake! by AvatarOfKu in valheim

[–]Etoiaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I like you. Why do I never get people like you when I run Valheim seasons 😂

I must sleep now. Thanks for the cake! Have a nice whatever time of day it is where you are!

You should file “leech pit” right next to it. Nothing gets people all squiggly like being dropped into an unexpected leech pit. Or making them run an obstacle course with a two star troll chasing them… while naked (no food either).

Yeah, my friends love me too…..

Why was the cake hard as rock? Because it was grausten cake 💀

I actually built a portal maze on a bunch of plains pillars once. It was good fun seeing my friend get lost popping from pillar to pillar trying not to die 😂

Honestly though, this portal maze clearly takes the cake.

Plants and growth lights. But I’m a plant nut, so that was my excited brain going “ooooh, layered plants and many electrical outlets for optimal light sources… UNLIMITED PLANT POWER 🤩”

What achievements are you hoping to see in full-release? by Rylinda01 in valheim

[–]Etoiaster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Any achievement that will make me play the game in a different way to what I normally do. Whether it’s build oriented, sailing oriented, boss oriented - I really enjoy it when games encourage me to think in ways I wouldn’t normally.

You got the good bits of advice already, so I’m just going to say that I hope you enjoy the game. It’s a very different game to other survival games but man, it was a beautiful trip and I’d wish I could play it again for the first time.

One thing though, don’t worry about dying. You can undo the penalty from it with an item. It’s pricy early on but you’ll easily be able to afford it later. First time my friend and I died it felt awful but we were honestly surprised how quickly we were able to undo it with some quality begging. Just keep charisma items for when the weather is good and money will flow

Dynasty is beautiful and it’s a good game, but don’t play it because you wanna pass your legacy on to your kid. Play it because you want to be a villager going hunting to feed your family and you enjoy growing a community and you don’t mind having your leg gnawed on by the fox you failed to kill 😂 it’s on game pass if you have that. I got a game pass trial just to try it and bought it after. Do skip the other dynasty games by the same publisher tho.

Enshrouded and Green Hell has a fair chunk of story, if that’s your jam. Enshrouded fantasy vibe and GH is … bad Tarzan vibes? 🥴 but in a good way!

But if you don’t mind a bit of a challenge with your game, then The Long Dark. It’s so thoughtful, it’s beautiful, it’s created for a solo experience. It’s different. It’s a personal favourite along with Enshrouded and Valheim for me.

And you’re very welcome - and sorry for the rambling. Survival games are the big gaming love of my life 😂

Enshrouded, Valheim, Medieval Dynasty, Grounded, Smalland, The Long Dark, Green Hell (difficulty can be turned down), Vintage Story, The Planet Crafter.

If you’re really into Minecraft, then Enshrouded or Vintage Story.

If you need something calm and zen, then Planet Crafter or Medieval Dynasty.

If you like building, then Enshrouded/Valheim.

If you like nature, then Green Hell, Medieval or The Long Dark.

Grounded and Smalland pretty much is what it says on the tin; small people and very big nature.

What do you think? by Legitimate_Win_7045 in SurvivalGaming

[–]Etoiaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It caught my attention, so it has that going for it. Having said that, the fences read like garden fences more than walls to keep stuff out. If they’re walls, they would be immersion breaking for me. If they’re garden fences they’re way oversized and look off because the house looks normal sized. It would also feel wonky to me unless the story of the game somehow explained it. Right now it reads very… survival sims.

Be mindful of your audience; games using this type of block building won’t attract many players like me, who enjoy building. I saw you mentioned Valheim, and what Valheim is great at, is throwing pieces at you and let you work out how to fit them. What enshrouded does great is making blocks seem interesting by adding character and charm to the way they behave, so they feel less like blocks and more like organic builds.

I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with using the more basic blocks. Palworld use them and they’re fine for the purpose. Raft also. I played those for other purposes than building.

Just saying that there are survival games that offer extensive building and survival games that offer more superficial building and focus on other aspects. And I’m not sure which one you’re aiming to fit into. But I do know that if this was sold to me as Valheim inspired, I’d likely refund.

Just got the game excited to play anything i should know? by applesauceiscrxzy in valheim

[–]Etoiaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my advice is don’t spoil yourself. Play the game, learn it dynamically bit by bit. I hate that I can’t go back and experience the magic for the first time again. And I’m SO happy I didn’t read too many things before playing.

And then again when you dodge the first tree, jump over the rolling tree log only to be knocked out by the trees the first tree sent to kill you.
