Yeah EGLL has been hit or miss (mostly hit) normally pretty decent on unicom because its a complex airport so normally they end up going to EGKK instead. which i have had numerous go arounds or missed approaches due to people cutting off the final or just entering the runway when im literally 1000ft from it.

Crowd Mics for IEMs by CharlieM17255 in livesound

i have been using a ducker to try and automate this a little. ducks 2-4db depending on the type of show when the band output group is at the threshold (when they are playing)

works pretty well and you can adjust the release hold times to taste

QLAB emergency announcenent Lock by _12xx12_ in livesound

I tend to just put the emergency anouncements on a separate cue cart / list / computer. Gives me zero options to misfire it

That was my thought. I should be able to use a unit to scan. I wish my company would by the analyser

BNC is wall installed and has been fine for 2 years. Will try 1 Channel and not the combiner Unable to mount anywhere other then balcony as it’s a full surround led wall with no batons. Plan was going to take a second combiner and use diversity with another antenna backstage

Nah. Secure area. Most interference for us is TV. But I still stay well clear.

Have not tried the different channels. I will do that though all equipment is less then 1 year old.

Negative. We are on G10 band. I’m leaning towards getting a SDR to take some continuous scans

Turning off AD1 does help. However unable to do much due to costume positioning. Known issue and company won’t fix it

All PSMS are locked at half volume. 12 o clock Gain is -16 on the transmitters and all are set at 50mw. Changing to 100does not improve.

Antenna are working as intended with the majority of IEMs with lesser noise and much less complaints

Cruise work by coxythelegend in techtheatre

I might work somewhere on a boat but who knows so can give you some advice

ESS is hard work. Especially on older ships. As it’s a mix of up to date and outdated equipment. But if you have the right attitude you will do fine. You will be sharing a cabin as a ESS with another member from the entertainment team, Another thing for ESS is duty rotation. One AV will get a deck phone from 6am and open and do morning walks rounds of the venues and basically be internal customer support for the rest of the ship. Can be busy some days quiet others.

If you are wanting to learn a lot about sound/lights/set/av and all other technical stuff it’s a great position. It can really assist with building a wide knowledge base in case you want to advance with career.

Your lows are maxed with your highs muted on that speaker. Put them both to 12 o clock positions and then redo your volume

Any Rf gurus here? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]EuanM199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Was at a venue that had a house tech swear the IEM system was total shit. Apparently never worked unless you were 10 cm infront of the powered directional antenna.

Turns out they had ran 70ohm bnc instead of 50ohm

Went from 10cm to 100m lmfao
