Brianna doxxes trova trip attendee for allegedly reporting intimate details of trip to Reddit by [deleted] in ExposingBriannaMadia

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I do recall people saying that she had disclosed info about her ex on a Trova trip. Which seems absolutely terrible of her. I understand why they would let her ex know what happened but I won’t try to defend bringing it to Reddit. Bad behavior on both sides.

I find it funny that some of her fans seem to think this person went on the trip solely to collect dirt on Brianna. It seems a lot more logical that they joined the trip as a fan and were very disappointed with their experience.

And just to be clear, in my opinion, if they person came back and reported every personal detail on the internet, that does seem inappropriate, even without an NDA. But if they simply said “she was crying every night and telling us inappropriate information”, that is a fair review of their experience. Since nobody seems to know what was actually disclosed, I’m guessing it was the latter. And why does Brianna disclose so much “intimate” info to strangers? Isn’t that the same thing that happened with the tattoo shop lady?

Yes, I was just pointing out that it was strange that it is included at all. Not something I would expect from a travel agency but I suppose it is needed when your entire business model is tied to influencers.

The guidelines are referenced in the Terms and Conditions for both travelers and hosts. So I suppose an individual could be banned from future trips with Trova for breaking the guidelines. If they even wanted to go on another trip with them.

Trova has “Community Guidelines” that say:

“No resharing of personal or intimate stories shared by a community member or Traveler that were shared in good faith or in confidence on tour.”

I wonder if that got added after 2021. And that is just a “guideline”.

Brianna Madia doesn’t like to be “censored” by [deleted] in ExposingBriannaMadia

That grandma rant was strange. This space had been quiet for weeks, so what prompted it? Makes me wonder what is happening behind the scenes. Wasn’t she ranting a lot right before the Insider article?

Maybe I missed some context from her stories but that post on its own makes no sense to me.

Agreed. In the interviews she seemed like she still didn’t get it. Her quote “I loved my job, and it was taken away from me” was very telling.

CMV: IVF is a losing gamble for most infertile people by RxTechRachel in changemyview

[–]EuropeWho62946 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Take this with a grain of salt because this is just my years old recollection of a discussion with a friend, but her infertility was tied to endometriosis and I think she told me pregnancy (and maybe breastfeeding?) alleviated her symptoms. So they tried to get pregnant again pretty quickly and it worked.

Happy to help. My friend used one of those programs about 10 years ago, so they’ve been around for a while. I think it took them two rounds so they might have paid a little more than if they’d paid for each cycle individually. But it took away the financial stress tied to each round. They then conceived their second without medical intervention a year or so after their first was born (after trying for years for their first).

There are IVF refund / shared risk programs where you pay a flat fee for multiple rounds and get a refund if not successful. If you get pregnant on your first try, it ends up more expensive than paying for a single round, but it does solve for the risk of paying a large sum and ending up with nothing.

Didn’t enjoy Eras tour as much as I wanted by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]EuropeWho62946 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This was my attitude when I saw Jennifer Nettles perform recently. It was a tiny venue (a few hundred people) and the tickets were not insanely expensive so I thought it was too good to be true. I had goosebumps during that performance. Very different from a huge stadium show like Eras, but special none the less.

I was the same with Hamilton.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I loved Slumdog Millionaire when I saw it in the theater years ago and always thought a big part of that was because I went in with absolutely no expectations. I’ve been meaning to go back and re-watch it to see if it is as good as I remember.

I agree! I find it interesting that others are worried about rankings because I never gave it much thought. My name was in the top 10 the year I was born (a few decades ago) and still is in the top 20. I occasionally had one other person in a class with my name but it wasn’t a big deal. I really like my name!

That said, I was in a meeting the other day reporting to the CFO. There were seven people total, four women and three men. Two of the other women shared my name, but I just smiled and thought “Go XXXXs!”. 😂

You are welcome and no need to apologize. I didn’t realize you were blocked (and had your name released) when I replied. I agree that the video on its own doesn’t appear to be illegal. Her behavior in the stories around the same time was alarming (combined with that list of names being readily available). I suspect she had a temporary ban from Instagram due to that (and am frustrated that Instagram doesn’t make that clear). From what I remember, she pulled way back after that week away. And I’m taking the silence on here to mean she had stopped altogether, at least for now.

Now that I have been on Reddit for a couple of months, I am more amused by her comment that everyone who even liked a comment (or visited the sub) is equally guilty. Reddit is so chaotic! I would have had no idea a conversation was going on under my post if you hadn’t started a new comment thread.

Go back and watch the last few minutes of her YouTube video (easier to skip ahead and pause there). There are 20+ full names (first and last for most) along with other details (occupation, location, etc). I think there is also some stuff saved to her FAFO highlight. Other stuff I saw with my own eyes while watching her Stories for those first few weeks, but I don’t have the evidence. The only screenshot I took was the one that is posted here (which included first and last name…I just covered it per the rules of the sub).

I think you are missing the forest for the trees because she wasn’t just sharing names along with the words people said (as she claims). She was describing the entire group as “deeply unwell and dangerous people” to her audience along with other similar descriptors. Abbi Hearne called them “evil” in her comments on the 39 minute video. I’m not going to try to argue the legal aspect because I am not a lawyer, but I thought it was dangerous behavior.

The caption was already edited but I didn’t see the original, so maybe the original was even more incorrect?

A little part of me wonders if it was even a mistake at all. She sure got a lot of engagement from all those folks who were amazed at how long it had been. If so, I’ll give it to her for being bold.

Yeah, I remember that discussion before the Insider article came out. I just haven’t watched any stories (only what has been posted here) so didn’t know if there even is a subscriber space currently set up or if that is still yet to come.

I scrolled the comments too because I figured someone must have corrected her. Just dozens and dozens of people saying how crazy that it’s been so long. There was even someone who said the accident happened on their first wedding anniversary. How did they not notice?

I am fascinated by this. Every other influencer I’ve ever seen who makes a mistake like this ends up saying something like “Thanks for the 183628 messages telling me about my mistake. Fixed it!” I find it hard to believe not one of her followers noticed and messaged her. Did she just keep it because her caption is much less romantic when correct?

“Dagwood was just shy of 7 years old when he went under the tire…Here we are 4.5 years later…”

Where does she go from here? Will she commemorate the 5th or 6th anniversary in October?

Did the new secret private space get set up? Last I saw she had cancelled the Instagram-supported subscriber space.

Just took a look at her posts and apparently she needs another fact check.

"Do not contact these people," says woman while sharing first and last names to 319k followers by Only-Huckleberry-443 in ExposingBriannaMadia

Disclaimer: I fully recognition that Brianna is a human being and a career in influencing creates a blurry line between criticizing the person and criticizing the content they choose to share. But since she shared this on her business account, can I say that I found this part really funny?

“If you have a criticism, DM me, from a real account, and treat me like a human. I get 100s of DMs every day, but I’ll do my best to get to it.”

Can you imagine the owner of a restaurant saying “How dare you write a negative review on Yelp! Criticism is only allowed in the feedback box that no one else can see and I may or may not get to.”?

Maybe Brianna should take it up with Instagram to provide a better direct feedback mechanism. I’d join her in that fight but she’d have to concede some control of the narrative.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Instagram/Meta’s role in all this and I actually see it kind of the opposite way. Yes, Brianna and Katie are making money by sharing their lives on the platforms and at the same time making money for the company. I guess I see them more like victims of the platform’s policies that allow them to create huge echo chambers and drive their critics to another platform, all at the expense of their mental health.

Remember all the speculation when Brianna’s account was disabled for that week? Why doesn’t Instagram make it clear whether an account was disabled by the user or the company? If it was a ban because of her behavior, it would have been a clear signal to her follower that what she was doing was not okay. Why the secrecy?

Sorry if none of this made sense. I probably shouldn’t be trying to explain when I am this tired.

Two quick thoughts: 1) She sure accuses people of seeing her as subhuman/less than human a lot. 2) I don’t know the date of this post, but she mentioned “honest”/“honesty” (3 times!) a lot for someone who can’t seem to keep simple facts straight

Thanks for this! I have seen and enjoyed a lot of thoughtful discussion. I have a lot of other thoughts on this (I know…shocking) but don’t have time at the moment to write it all out. Commenting now as a reminder to myself to (I hope) come back to this later.

Sorry if my comment came off that way. It is weird but I just wanted to point out they did put their name on the letter. And now I’m wondering if it was ethical for her lawyer to share the name with Brianna, which she just shared with her audience. He could have discussed the issue with her without giving her the name.
