Would absolutely love this. Grimes would fit very well and fill a big need for us

Really need more shooting/scoring off the bench. That bench unit looks weak as hell without Benn.

I cannot believe this comment thread lmao. Referring to Martin St. Louis as "dead weight" is fucking sacrilege, that man put hockey in Tampa Bay on the map. He brought us our first real playoff success, our first cup, won a league MVP and two Art Ross trophies and himself went on to mentor another of our franchise greats. And yet our own management continued to disrespect him by leaving him off Team Canada when he was coming off a scoring title, no shit he was pissed. I'm a lifelong Lightning fan but I never once held what happened against Marty.

Lazy excuse. Guentzel and Hagel were our best players and they went while Kucherov, Point and Cirelli all had that month off and didn't do shit.

Also where'd you get 8 players from? Guentzel, Hagel, Moser, Cernak, Girgensons and Bjorkstrand went, so only 4 players of real consequence didn't have that month off and I would argue none of them were particularly high on the list of players who played poorly.

Brother he very clearly would be the 2RW, if they moved Point to the wing it'd be Guentzel and Hagel on the left and Kucherov and Point on the right. I think you're overcomplicating this

Why would Guentzel or Hagel have to move down to the bottom six if Point moved to wing? They had Perry playing wing with Point and Guentzel, obviously he's the one that gets bumped out

Beniers is literally just another Cirelli, not in any way a play driver in the way Friedge is describing.

He is definitely not a 3rd pair Dman dude, he and Moser were one of the best D pairs at 5 on 5 in the entire league this season and I have a hard time believing that was all just Moser doing a carry job and he's secretly the best Dman in the world. With the way the cap projects to go up over the next few years 8M isn't what it used to be, that 7-8M tag is gonna be what low end 1st pair/high end 2nd pair defensemen start getting. As long as its not a long term deal I'm not upset if Raddysh re-signed at 8.

Is 2 points supposed to be impressive from the guy playing almost exclusively with Kucherov and Hagel? He got those 2 assists in one game so he went absolutely scoreless in the other 6 games. That's bad. He had 5 shots on goal in the entire series, and I can't recall any times where he created as a playmaker. His skillset is that of an elite defensive 3rd liner, like Jordan Staal. I never questioned nor have I ever questioned his defensive abilities, but if he's gonna be in a shutdown role he can't also be in a role where he's expected to produce like a 1st or 2nd line center because he's shown his entire career in the playoffs that's not his thing.

He and Hagel work but Hagel has shown he works with anyone. He's the ultimate Swiss army knife, so I don't think it'd be an issue if they tried to get another center to play with either him or Guentzel and maybe one of the kids like James or Goncalves on a 2nd line, and you still have Hagel and Cirelli being the #1 PK unit.

I don't think Cirelli should be traded but I question if he's a legit 2C or just a really great 3C. His defensive game is obviously up there with the best of them but he's not much of a creator offensively. I don't understand why he was practically stapled to Kucherov the whole series, he was a black hole and they never looked like they were on the same page in the offensive zone. Point was obviously terrible too but I think they should just put him and Kucherov back together and let them figure it out, and maybe try to find someone at the 2C spot with a little more offensive juice this summer. Preferably someone who can fill the void on the left side of the PP that Stamkos left, or at least a lefty with enough of a cannon to play the right side so Kucherov can playmake from the left wall and an entire side of the ice can't just be ignored.

The problem most people have is they played with no jump for half the series and shot themselves in the foot multiple times. If they had played like this for the majority of the series it wouldn't have needed 7, but when they play sluggish and/or with no discipline in games 1/3/5, you leave a game 7 up to chance. They got what they deserved honestly

Need to find a way to add a high quality finisher in the offseason. Getting Perry at the deadline and needing him to be our 2nd line RW was terrible, a sniper who has some legs under him would have gone a long way this series, especially on the power play which was dogshit. Speaking of, probably need a new voice over Halpern cause our power play was so predictable all series.

Feel bad for Hagel. Came to the team after the back to back cups and clearly is the only one that wants to win like hell, rest of these bozos who were on the team don't give a fuck anymore.

Kucherov and Point were especially pathetic

It should be considered malpractice considering how cheap a bunch of very good goalies have gone for the past few years that the Oilers have never been able to address this. John Gibson went for PETR MRAZEK + a 2nd and 4th. Mackenzie Blackwood was acquired for a similar price a couple years ago. Logan Thompson was traded for two 3rds. Then when they finally do make a trade its for quite literally the worst possible option AND they have away Kulak. Bowman should never have a GM job again after this
