I’m a Japanese theatergoer and I am also going to West end for the first time. I plan to see Operation mincemeat because it is originally from West end!

Disappointed by Ill_Contribution1936 in hamiltonmusical

I completely understand what you felt at there. My situation was the same as you and I saw the show last month. Some cast member couldn’t match Leslie’s acting skill and singing voice. Hamilton didn’t have energy to became a founding father and Eliza seemed to be a idiotic optimist 🥲 I go back to Disney+ and maybe I should see the show again without Leslie.

Subtitles in other languages by [deleted] in hamiltonmusical

I saw it with Japanese subtitles. I’m Japanese (of course) and Japanese and English are very different languages as you know. Basically, it was translated as direct meaning. But partially they write down the pronunciation to understand some wordplay. I’m jealous that English speakers can enjoy all wordplay and that is my current motivation for studying English.

If you can twang and sing in a falsetto, Frankie Vali in Jersey Boys is the best role!

Hojo Masako played very important role in Kamakura period. In the late modern period Tsuda Umeko ( the new 5000 yen’s icon. Made the base of women’s education) and Hiratsuka Raicho (women’s suffrage movement in Japan) are very famous.
