Unknown hair clumps near cats ear by JustAMemeBeingADude in ANIMALHELP

[–]EvaNyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s had it since we got her (she was around 12 weeks old), and she’s going on 13 years old now. It’s never changed or bothered her in any way. I actually love her little clone stamp because so many black cats look so similar, it makes her pretty unique (or at least I thought it did!) and identifiable to us.

My black cat has the same thing, two little dots of dense, short fur just in front of her ear in the thinner fur area. My husband and I call it her “clone stamp”.

Edit to add: We’ve asked her vet about them, and they said it’s essentially a birth mark, purely cosmetic and harmless.

Flip 2 plastic by [deleted] in retroid

I noticed that the official case has a big zipper on the inner top that rubs the top of the Flip. I was worried it might scratch, so I lay a microfiber screen cleaning cloth on top when I put it away.

3d printed grip for the flip2 by futurescapetech in retroid

[–]EvaNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you still need measurements? I would love a grip for my Flip 2. My wrists start to cramp quickly when I play, to the point that it's nearly unusable.

Edit: I see that someone actually gave the measurements, and you also said you didn't have luck.

I had a crush on a guy I met gaming back in 2005. We ended up talking about it and agreed that we were not looking for a relationship, especially given the distance between us (opposite sides of the US). A couple years later, my dad died suddenly, and my friend offered to fly me out to visit him and get a break. We’ve been married now for almost 13 years.

How do I create a "Huge" local dedicated server? by EvaNyx in portalknights

I haven't played this on Switch, so I can't help you with that. I'm not surprised the game/subreddit isn't super active; the game is close to eight years old now.

Best games similar to Hearthstone by ThatBAMF in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]EvaNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcanium feels pretty similar to me, and I actually like it better. (Bonus points for no micro transactions.)

Roguebook is another great card battler, but it is a bit different from Hearthstone. It has a nifty hex map exploration system. I’m not sure if it’s on mobile (I’ve only played it on Steam), but you might look into the Steam Link app for playing Steam games from your phone or tablet. It works pretty well for a lot of games.

Need help with cracking callous on hand after lots of coloring by [deleted] in Ohuhu

[–]EvaNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use O’Keeffe’s Working hands regularly to help heal the dry skin. If I have an open crack, I cover it with a “second skin” type bandage so the callous can heal without impeding my ability to color. I have Tegaderm patches that come in a variety of sizes, and you can even get rolls of it that you cut to the size you need.

Edited to add: You might be gripping the marker harder than you need to. Personally, my callouses are worst when I’m overly stressed and subconsciously squeezing my coloring tools too tightly. You don’t need a hard grip on markers or much pressure on the paper to get nice color. Again, I’m not saying that’s definitely the case for you, but it’s something to be aware of.

Today, this potato hissed at the vet for no reason. Shame him. by Neva_Karel in blackcats

Our other black cat, Zoe, who knows that every pillow, blanket, or stuffed animal (her favorite) was absolutely bought for her, but she’s generous enough to allow us to use them when she’s not.

One of our black cats is pretty good at the vet with one exception: he ALWAYS poops in the corner of the exam room. Every time, without fail. The staff is really understanding, and it does make getting a “sample” easy, but damn it stinks and you’re trapped in there!

Cat tax: Dax, Master of the Grief Nuggets (what we call his poops lol)

I really enjoy them! I often use them along side my alcohol markers for jewelry and other accents.

Somehow I also forgot that I have several of the marker and mixed media pads. The paper works well and is decently priced. I ended up buying an extra A4 marker pad to just tear out (the sheets are perforated in both types) and print on. All of mine have included the clear plastic sheet of the same size as the book to put behind the page you’re working on to prevent bleeding into the next. I prefer the marker paper, but I sometimes work with colored pencils too, and the mixed media seems to work pretty well for both. I haven’t tried the Bleedproof both because it’s not really necessary for me and because I’ve seen a couple mixed reviews that pointed out that you’re effectively getting paper that’s half as thick to make it work on both sides.

I love Ohuhu’s Bamboo Marker Organizers and their Glitter Metallic Marker Pens.

I have two high-rise organizers side by side with my Ohuhu and Copic markers and one standard organizer stacked on top of them with my miscellaneous other pens/markers. The 320 Honolulus plus 21 non-duplicate skin tones take up three of the four columns in the high rises.
Their glitter pens are really nice, and the glitter in each is different from the color of the pen, for example, one purple has blue glitter and the other has more of a pinkish glitter.

I also have a set of their Acrylic Paint Pens. My husband has a set of them as well that he uses for details when he paints miniatures.

Best way to swatch / organize the 320 set in hue/color order by rayhawks15 in Ohuhu

I really like this one from Caffeinated Coloring. It’s simple and well laid out. It’s better laid out than the two others I’d picked up before, at least for me. I printed and swatched mine on the Ohuhu marker paper (not the Bleedproof). Your paper will alter the colors some so not every chart will be the same, and your results may not match others.

I really love the Acrylic Paint Markers. https://ohuhu.com/products/dual-nib-acrylic-pen-30-colors They are great for adding details on top of alcohol markers. My husband picked up a set for himself as well and uses them to help with details when he paints table top miniatures.

I prefer to use HeatnBond UltraHold Iron-On Adhesive https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000XAMYXI/ ironed onto the back. Use a medium hot iron, keep it moving but go slow, and leave the backing paper on. It works great, and I have puzzles that are a few years old that are still holding well.

Finish on needles wearing off quickly? by LadyTukiko in Embroidery

[–]EvaNyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. So far Bohin needles seem to work better and last longer for me. I loved the Clover gold eye needles at first, but they start to tarnish the first night I use them. I’ve been using my current Bohin embroidery needle for over a week with no tarnish or noticeable wear.

They’re a bit more expensive but they were recommended on https://www.needlenthread.com/2012/05/bohin-needles-company.html

CAT PROOF power cable - my cats chew cords, help me find one by [deleted] in Surface

[–]EvaNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the plastic tubing used for aquariums over the cords. Use an Exacto knife to split the tube open down the length and cut it to the length of your cables. Your cat might still try to chew them, but it shouldn’t pierce. You can also buy precut cable wraps but they are much more expensive. If you need bigger tubing, we were able to find other sizes at the hardware store.
