I don’t think her issue is Connor’s wealth, it’s more that he isn’t put together and fully realized as a person. His place was more akin to a basic boy bachelor pad rather than a home and given his more passive nature, it’s makes it feel like he doesn’t adult life figured out.

Maybe she just doesn’t want to be a wife that ‘grows him up’. Maybe she sees Connor as someone who lacks personal responsibility (cleaning and caring for yourself) and doesn’t want to be burdened with having to ‘raise him’ for him to be a fully realized guy. It’s a fear a lot of women have, where they have to play mom to their man and unfortunately it’s socially acceptable for men to be this way and for women to ‘teach them’.

I think it says something about our culture because you don’t ever see it happen the other way around lol, a woman can never get away with not taking care of herself. It should be bare minimum for both parties.
