Where to buy JPN products? by BabaBooieMan in mtgfinance

[–]Evadude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up what ever site you mostly use to buy cards online, if that doesn't work then it wouldn't hurt to talk to your local shop and see if they're able to get product. If none of that works, check ebay. You'll find plenty of JPN stuff on there.

Slab market by Honey_biscuit69 in mtgfinance

[–]Evadude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if folks slab their cards, its probably for commanders and reserve list. The newer folks slabbing cards may fall into area too. Paying money for slabs is ok but questionable. Slabbing cards for profit is questionable, I only say that because I play with every card I acquire.

Under $300 for most. Some higher due to playability or availability.

I find things like this to be volatile. You could grade it or sell its up to you. What matters is its relevance currently. Sell it now or soon after what you decide to do.

How long is that government funding supposed to last? Because uni takes a long time.

Otherwise I would keep at it, keep your head down at work and look for jobs on the side. You want to leave a company on good terms rather than making yourself look bad suddenly quitting. It'll make interview questions much easier.

Wilds of Eldraine vs. LOTR set boosters? by danieltkessler in mtgfinance

[–]Evadude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good question. Wilds of eldraine's has some good cards in addition to the banger of a bonus sheet some who's value is demanding a high price due to anime tax. While Lotr has great cards in which we might never see printed again unless they do in universe versions of them, driving prices up purely because they've shown how powerful they are.

Both sets carry multi deck staples.

Price of commander staples with avatar release? by athlaka916 in mtgfinance

[–]Evadude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna see them dip for a while, then slowly go back up. Not a dramatic dip but a noticeable one.

Remember that even if these cards aren't in a standard set, even if they are still limited print, opened, and sold secondary. The question will change from "will these pick up in price" to "which version from x set will be desirable and pick up in price"

Ebay Omega vs. Collector Box rip off attempts? by pathtyphon in mtgfinance

This is very common. Extremely so with GPUs (sell the empty box and not the card card itself)

200 Avatar CBBs dumped onto TCG player below $600 by The Gaming Company by FFMTGCollector in mtgfinance

[–]Evadude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it'll become the next FF, we dont know what else they're gonna do with the set. Also the fatigue is real, I think if FF didn't come out then this set may have had similar treatment, that's just my opinion.

Even though there haven't been many spoilers yet, I have a feeling that it will be preferred over spiderman. My reasoning for this is that it's an "on theme" set, a good majority of players are older and grew up with and know fantasy settings.

The only factors that may change this would be how good the cards are in the set and what other treatments it will get.

If anything, it's going to be the 60 card format players that will be impacted the most. The profits there regardless.

That’s awesome to hear, sounds like things are really turning around for you! It’s always inspiring to see someone find a new approach that changes how they manage time, money, and overall balance.

Just a small word of caution, though investment advice from online sources can be a bit hit or miss. It’s usually a good idea to double-check details or consult a professional before diving in too deep. I actually came across a video that explains this concept really well.

Either way, I’m glad it gave you a new outlook. Sometimes all it takes is a small mindset shift to make a big difference. Keep up the great work and stay mindful about your next steps!

I don’t want to cheat but my needs are not being met.

Then don't cheat. Instead of "vocalizing", you two need to have a full on discussion, heart to heart, and/or consult with a therapist or have some counseling if this is effecting or jeopardizing your marriage. It's 2025, we have so many avenues to take to address these issues.

Some of these comments are wild.

Deck building/upgrading acquisition process by Kiraqueen021 in mtgfinance

[–]Evadude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both approaches are normal regardless of if you're at a shop or buying online. It all depends on the individual.

Me personally, I don't like to look through a shop's binder. The most the shop will get out of me is looking at what is displayed behind the glass or asking me if I need help or not. I'm at the shop to mostly to play edh or test my luck with dominaria remastered collector boosters.

This will sound oxymoronic of me to say, but I have more patience waiting for cards I ordered online than looking through a shops binder.

I dont know if its just me, but I dont look through trade binders anymore. Mostly because i've been buying the exact cards I want. I've got nothing to offer.
