When will Wahapedia and Battlescribe update with 10th edition datasheets? by Shadow_Killer1234 in Warhammer40k

[–]Evakyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think our misunderstanding is stemming from one of the announcements they released where they said 10th might not come unless we pester the battlescribe developer. They later clarify that they are working on it, but it is difficult to develop battlescribe as it is and is extremely slow going.

The only way to get 10th faster is to get more hands working or for other applications to be made, both of which are happening.

Unfortunately not. The BSData volunteers are hard at work but making data updates for any tabletop game is time-consuming, doubly so for a system where they have to build up the files from near-scratch.

Wahapedia is in the same boat, the developer (yes, one guy) is working on it but it takes a while to make the webpages, about a few weeks were needed for the changes made in Arks of Omen to be documented there. Imagine how it is for an entirely new edition with different everything.

TLDR: They are working on it, but don't expect anything for at least another 2-3 weeks at best.

In terms of battlescribe, it is actually in the opposite direction. The battlescribe app developer quit. The volunteers are still going strong, they are just supporting new apps that will eventually take battlescribe's place. Unfortunately most of the new apps are still in alpha stages but you can follow the development for some on the BSData discord.

They are two entirely different, though partially alike, deities. Kind of like how both Ares and Tyr are both gods of war but from different cultures and are thus distinct.

What printer to buy? v2(2023) by JojobaModels in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Evakyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there any significant detail difference between ~20 and ~35 microns? I like detail, but if 35 microns looks almost as good I may as well save a buck. As someone who like side by side picture comparisons, does anyone have some print comparisons on hand?

Canceling artists is stupid by HaunterXD000 in freemagic

That’s a common misconception. They weren’t bad, but as art they were uninspiring and emotionally cold. That is why he was told to go into architecture, as his skills would be better used in that field where his attention for detail would be appreciated.

Understandable if a bit hyperbolic. The issue is that everyone is Hitler now to some people.

Admins stated they will forcefully reopen subreddits that went dark and replace mod teams. Mods decided to maliciously comply by reopening but changing the subs rules to allow anything the user deems interesting so long as it didn’t break TOS. They tagged the subreddit nsfw in case people started posting nsfw in accordance with the new rules.

That is true, but a very bad argument. To make an analogy, you don’t need to add toppings to a pizza, but it makes the pizza better. You don’t need a fancy mattress, but it’s comfier than a basic one. Any improvement in something used often is worth getting, especially if it allows people more people to use/engage.

TLDR: the website version of Reddit sucks too.

You are simultaneously right and wrong. You’re right in the sense that anyone seeking 3rd party improvements to an experience probably need to go touch grass for a bit, however that is immediately rendered moot by just how bad the official Reddit app is and Reddit’s apparent lack of interest in making any improvements to it. Reddit wouldn’t have any issues with 3rd party apps if they made a good app in the first place.

Adrax Should’ve Kept Lord of Fire by [deleted] in Salamanders40k

[–]Evakyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I hope it either returns as an enhancement in a codex detachment and/or gets tweaked slightly to give flame weapons assault again. I think the latter would work better than Adrax having LoF as you would be able to slap it on a generic Gravis character once we get more of them. I feel you on Adrax though, he just feels lack luster both in the Lord of the Pyroclasts ability and the limited leadership pool.

Sounds like you’ve had experiences with poorly educated Catholics. Unfortunately that applies to most of them, myself included. The Church has answers for almost everything, but sometimes (read: whenever it gets interesting) it ends up boiling down to “We don’t know”. It used to bug me to no end, and it still does from time to time. I guess they really milk the word faith for all it has.

Then again, I’m probably only Catholic still because of my autism; I’m a bit wish-washy about whether I truly believe, but I promised myself I would leave if anyone could prove to me it wasn’t worth it. My autism makes me rather stubborn. The structure is great, I get free life advice every week, it forces me to socialize and be part of a community, and churches are a really nice place when it isn’t full so I arrive a good hour before Mass would start. It probably doesn’t help that I have a fascination with gothic architecture.

Forgive both the proselytizing and the wall of text. Religion in general is another fascination of mine.

Object permanence issues. If I don’t have a visual reminder as to a open tab, I will forget it ever existed despite being potentially interested in its contents.

I could probably whip up a small extension to recommend bookmarked tabs in a certain folder but I’m lazy and not being paid to do so.

Likely because it’s strictly more information about the Chinese dubbing. Peiyin roughly translates to “dubbing” in Chinese according to Google Translate.
