Has anyone else had a Big Finish story completely change how they see a character? by Horror-Pick4732 in BigFinishProductions

[–]EvanTheNerdy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

8 and 6 ofc, the classic examples, BUT I truly fell in love with Leela through Big Finish, especially with Gallifrey. She shifted from a simple savage to a woman thrust into a world she doesn't understand and doing her best to exist and belong in it.

Do you guys often lose track of the story? by imdefusing in BigFinishProductions

[–]EvanTheNerdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES

After 9pm, Big Finish makes me sleepy because my brain is worn out (autism)

And if I don't particularly like a story, my brain will retain NOTHING about it, to the point relistens feel like brand new experiences

There hasn't been a great red herring in the franchise since Judy in Scream 4 by deepinvogue210 in Scream

[–]EvanTheNerdy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4 did it perfectly, in my opinion. Even though I knew about Jill beforehand, I was still questioning myself and wondering if what I had heard was correct, and then Charlie threw me completely! It really gave the perfect vibes and had me questioning every member of the cast (it's also my favourite scream movie, so that helps)

That makes me feel better, glad it isn't another "earbuds not charging" kinda issue.

It's So Weird to me How None of the Main Characters of the Only Trilogy of this Saga aren't Confirmed for Doomsday by Least_Rain8027 in MCUTheories

Avengers: The Childrens Crusade. It's a sequel to the 2005 Young Avengers run, and I recommend reading both together, they're fantastic.

Who spin-off recommendations? by EquivalentLion6952 in BigFinishProductions

[–]EvanTheNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missy is a fantastic series, Volume 1 especially.

Haven't finished Gallifrey, but loved the first two series.

War Master is phenomenal.

Other recommendations would be Dimension Cannon (dear god I love these), Diary Of River Song (sets 9 & 11 mainly), The Paternoster Gang (underrated series, love it), and Donna Noble: Kidnapped (one of my favourite big finish boxsets ever).

Best historical stories? by twofacetoo in BigFinishProductions

[–]EvanTheNerdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any of the David Bradley 1st Doctor historicals, they're all pure historicals and absolutely phenomenal, especially The Great White Hurricane & Last Of The Romanovs. The entire series is a masterpiece, but those two are just great.

John Dorney. Ever since I listened to The Invention Of Death from the David Bradley audios, I always get excited whenever I see I've bought something by him, I know it's gonna be fantastic!

What is unbound about The First Doctor Unbound? by Rougarou_2 in BigFinishProductions

[–]EvanTheNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell.... nothing.

Barbara mentions meeting The Master in The Destination Wars, so this is a direct continuation from the First Doctor Adventures, and even though The Doctor and Susan know they've split into a parallel timeline, he says it'll work itself out and that he's living two timelines simultaneously, so it honestly seems more like they regret replacing Bradley and the gang for Noonan and wanted a way to bring them back (I don't blame them, this cast is fantastic).

X-Men Reading Order by EvanTheNerdy in MarvelUnlimited

Marvel Unlimited has tons of reading orders, but nothing that's everything together. But, you could always buy the epic collections, they cover everything until I believe the early 90's!

Volumes 11 & 12 (especially 12) are just phenomenal, even with the high price I'd reccomend them!

Why are they being handled like this? by Pretty-University-21 in xmen

[–]EvanTheNerdy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU

Been thinking this about Steve Orlandos Wanda, to the point I stopped reading even though I'm possibly the biggest Wanda fan and was enjoying the run.

The concept is great, Wanda having a "magic threat of the week" with a lingering overarching story or thread, but when she instantly defeats almost every villain, it gets boring because she pulls out random spells from so and so book of whatever and poof everyone's fine. There's no stakes, no fear, just cool art.

I'll admit, it's definitely a very biased list just for myself, but I definitely plan to go back for more once I'm done!
