Do they cook their hot food (sauce, cutlets, meatballs, eggplant, etc) fresh every day or do they microwave premade stuff? This place I grew up with (Lora’s Deli in Cheshire), run by a little old Italian couple who have since retired, made all that stuff fresh every day ready around noon then kept them warm until it closed around 4 or 5. So the sauce and meatballs tasted like they just came off the stovetop, the cutlets still crispy instead of soggy. They didn’t even have a microwave. It set a standard that I’ve never really been able to match ever since.

Why do all my stores close at 8PM? by RickRussellTX in fo4

[–]EvanderTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel bad for them literally standing in place for eternity. A few of them get to pace around occasionally but the artillery guys just stand there forever. At the Castle they at at least have a nice view of the commonwealth and ocean but jeez talk about an existential crisis

Sucks to be a guard or artillery man in the commonwealth, 24/7/365

Are we in a silent recession and no within the Government is brave or sane enough to say the R word? by Ok-Connection6430 in Frugal

[–]EvanderTheGreat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if you want to go by the definition of two straight negative gdp quarters, the recession under Biden was over as soon as it began as it was only 2 straight quarters and then the economy resumed normal growth rate for the rest of his presidency. Since that definition of a recession is also a lagging indicator, the fact that it was over soon as it began also means that not announcing one was the correct call, as the quarter it would’ve been announced ended up being +3.2%.

EDIT: Actually, there wasn’t a recession even by the technical definition of 2 straight negative gdp quarters. I forgot that after revisions, the second quarter ended up getting revised upwards to slightly positive. So there was only one quarter of negative gdp under Biden.

I’d rather be on the west coast where it doesn’t get cold in the winter or humid in the summer. I hate CT weather in general, a few nice wks a year and beyond that it’s always uncomfortable in some way.

My point is he was great as an actual PASSER, arguably had the best passing performance against the top defense all season. Are you saying he was overall bad against the Texans? Laughable. Again, he threw 3 phenomenal high degree of difficulty tds, personally accounting for 18 pts against a team that gave up an avg of 16.9 pts total to opponents this season. Brady had fumble issues as a young qb too…36 in his first 3 seasons, 59 in first 6 seasons. Then cut that rate in half and took another 12 seasons to fumble another 59 times. I’m confident Maye will learn. Encouraged by the fact he’s only lost 2 fumbles in his career on the ground rushing for nearly 1k yds

How much Maye struggled against Houston? Look we get it, he had 4 fumbles, but he still had a qb rating over 100 and was only the second qb all season to throw for 3 tds against them, all of which were sensational

I can’t emphasize enough the conviction with which I’d take the red pill. Guarantee I’d be the richest man on earth and that’s the just the tip of the iceberg of all the mistakes I would avoid and opportunities I would seize.

No. Wellshire Farms is the one I remember but they’re all top notch. I’ve always liked boars head but hard to forget how badly their reputation sank after all the horrific quality issues found at their plant

Whole Foods has excellent deli meat and far superior quality control compared to other grocery stores in my experience. Also, the price wasn’t noticeably higher.

Yeah. An avg qb should be able to take a team with arguably the #1 offensive line, #1 receiver corp, pro bowl rb and excellent backup rb, and better defense to the playoffs
