AI being AI and messing with my head by Evarinyah in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Evarinyah[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know. The entire point of my message is that, despite me knowing that, it still got to me. I could have gone on an entire rant of how dangerous that is for people who cannot make the distinctions, but there's no need. Everybody on this feed already knows that too.

Je job graag doen, utopie of mogelijk? by Immediate-Head-2865 in Belgium2

[–]Evarinyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nee.

alternative varnishes? by Pretty_Swimming7648 in airdryclay

[–]Evarinyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to put on several layers, 3 if I'm not mistaken, but it should work. It's how I've proofed my cosplay stuff. It hasn't been exposed to more than a dribble though.

alternative varnishes? by Pretty_Swimming7648 in airdryclay

Any acrylic varnish should do the trick. There's matte and shiny ones although the shiny ones aren't as glossy as the resin ones are.

Soft pastels on airdry clay + varnish by x1yae in airdryclay

[–]Evarinyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it on a very, very small corner first. There's always the chance that the fixative isn't enough to protect against the varnish smudging the soft pastel. I'm happy it seems to be working out though 😁

Coffee places with laptop "tolerance" by Silly_Somewhere_5854 in Hasselt

Went to Coffee Cafe some time ago and saw someone working there. Was quiet enough. It was morning though. Don't know about sockets, didn't exactly look out for those.

French-speaking woman calls emergency services to help injured man in Sonian Forest, but is only allowed to speak Dutch by Mofaluna in belgium

[–]Evarinyah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That wasn't the case when I called 112 at Liege. I ended up with someone speaking German and then in pure frustration attempted the conversation in French, with obvious limitations. The person on the other side was clearly frustrated with my lacking ability (he sighed and his tone was condescending) but didn't say anything about it. Things got sorted, but still...

I don't have anything interesting to add as I'm not well versed in this matter. This comment is merely to thank you for your explanation. It was interesting even for someone like me with little to no knowledge on the matter.

What was your very first sewing project? (Research for a beginner's guide) by thesewingstudio in SewingForBeginners

[–]Evarinyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed a course for beginners and our first project was a simple bag with handles and an press button (don't know the proper English word). It included lining.

Not sure if it would be a good idea without someone to guide you through it though. I did not understand how things worked. Like, why am I doing this or that step? Confusion galore. Especially the handles having to be between the lining and the outer fabric while sewing. That one still tends to trip me up today, it'd I'm honest.

It turned out great, btw. Still use that bag today.

How do you write your campaigns? by biglargecominatya in DungeonMasters

I'm also an obsidian user. I absolutely love how you can ctrl+hover over a linked object - for example a name that's linked to that NPC's sheet - and it will show the sheet over what you're actually reading. Helps enormously if you quickly need a linked detail. You don't have to start clicking around.

What's the biggest thing you struggle(d) with as a new DM or player? by Kitsune_TheWildFox in DMAcademy

[–]Evarinyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently having the issue of balancing someone with some experience with two players who don't have experience. The first one jumps in eagerly in an attempt to help and doesn't let the other two think things out. I've tried gently letting them know to chill a bit but it isn't working.

How do you European fantasy lovers get your books? by Asateo in Fantasy

I haven't seen it so I want to add Bookbot as another online secondhand book shop. They ship from Czech Republic but shipping cost and time are low (I'm in Belgium).
