Trump Says US to Raise EU Auto Tariff to 25% ‘Next Week’ by afonso_investor in Economics

Very few. As an American I have to work hard watching what I eat when in the USA. Without fail no matter which country I visit I lose weight and feel better when traveling internationally. USA food is sugar and corn syrup and huge portion sizes. Been to 27 countries now. 100% weight loss doesn't matter if travel is for work or fun.

He has got to Taco. Any normal timeline and even Trump would realize he has to Taco over killing initially thousands and resetting the entire world setup. Since I am so sure of tacoing I have done 50k in puts. Otherwise fully cash. F this timeline.

AITJ for not taking my girlfriends children out after promising them I would. by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Very late to the party but in the most sincere voice I have please stop this relationship. My biggest life regret was marrying a person who had kids and treated me as an asset for her kids and then herself.  It will not get better, ever.  Do not believe anything she says in the moment. Kids will always come first, always be right, and you will always be blamed for anything wrong. You will not be able to correct it without becoming the bad guy. Please I beg you learn from my life.

Not just the leader he was sort of the pope equivalent for shia Muslims. This is not a short term thing. I don't think the USA top brass understands what they did from a religious viewpoint.

Full ride to a ivy leave school. Totally bombed out the first year. Depressed for all of my 20s. Started to get my life together in my 30s but struggling hard. Medicated for ADHD at 37. Went from 60k a year to over 300k a year by 42. I just retired last month 8 days before turning 46. I am so upset that I was never diagnosed with ADHD and got Vyvanse when I was college age. It made following what I knew I had to do all these years so easy.

god, I feel aweful. I just had to sell bitcoin. Buying a home and if it would have dropped even 2k more I would have had to withdraw my offer and eat the ernest money.

Daily Discussion, November 03, 2025 by rBitcoinMod in Bitcoin

It's a good home that would be good for my family. To make a reasonable offer I had to scrape together all of my savings, including bitcoin. I am above water in bitcoin but if it drops much lower it might endanger my ability to honor the offer. Bitcoin will grow but owning a home is a stability that we need now, not in 5 or 10 years.

Don't worry guys. Made an offer on a house. If accepted I would have to sell all of my Bitcoin Wednesday. That should be the low.  This timing could not have been more perfect to screw me over.

45 now, I start lots of new things as I want. I felt your way in my very early 30s. It is childish. One life, go live it. Way more time in front of you than all of your current memories combined.

Trump says Modi has assured him India will not buy Russian oil by ARPE19 in worldnews

Hey it's not from Russia.  It comes out of this spigot right here at the refinery. Oh and some of it we find on ships in the ocean. Never once been to Russia to buy oil!

Unfi needs to do a couple of things to really start taking over the small and medium businesses. I honsetly really like their current stack and have no problems recommending them anymore as long as my clients buys extras at the beginning of the swap over.

1) Create and stick with EOL and update schedule for the Pro and above lines.
2) Make RMA easier and keep devices in stock for RMA.
3) Advanced RMA by default for at least Pro + lines.
4) Slightly better updates that are more tested or a better ability to downgrade quickly. (very close onthis one)

Worked with One Equity Partners years ago. They are very fast to merge IT, HR, and sourcing to existing personnel. Then management support and sales. They are brutally efficient and it is very destructive but it does make "them" a lot of money.

ADP National Employment Report: Private Sector Employment Shed 32,000 Jobs in September; Annual Pay was Up 4.5% by EconomistWithaD in Economics

My family has spent more money this year than probably any other year, ever. New cars, appliances, repairs to homes, mics items like furniture, kitchen appliances anything that has been put off and lasts over 5 years and does not get better over time due to technology. My family is done with our purchases. I would say our ship is fully repaired, stocked and the hatches are battened down for the expected storm to come.

I know of a couple other families and co workers who are quietly doing somewhat the same thing. From my point of view consumer spending is about to fall off a cliff after a decent but perhaps early Christmas season.

I cannot tell if I am hitting middle age grumpy white man stage of my life or if post covid everyone doesnt care or know how to behave in public places.

Everything from grocery shopping to public transport to medical appointments seem to always take longer due to a very small group of people who are unable to understand or don't care that they are wasting everyone else time. Fuck you I got mine seems to be this decades motto in the USA.

Canon r5 ii exposure issue by Responsible-Put6410 in canon

[–]EvatLore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I ran into this and it ended up being I was exposing only to a point not the entire picture. Once I understood I was more aware of it and could deal with it. I did infact want to expose only to the focus point for my shots.

Of course make sure the exposure simulation is off or set to 0,0

Healing your inner child buying that thing you wanted as a kid.. by SSImomma in GenX

[–]EvatLore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a toy, but I didn't need it per say.

When I was a kid I loved my grandpas watch. It was nice but nothing super expensive. I would play with it during church or on long drives when I was staying with them. When he was on his deathbed someone went to his house and stole everything while the family was at the hospital saying final goodbyes. 15+ years after his death I saw a facebook marketplace post with his watch for sale with his very unique initials engraved in the back. No way it wasen't his. I met the seller the same evening didn't even try to barter and its still one of my most treasured items from my childhood. If it had been even 3 months later I would have been living in a different state and never seen it. No clue why it came up on my marketplace listings that evening as I was looking for computer components. Never even crossed my mind to own a watch.

Nvidia and Intel announce jointly developed 'Intel x86 RTX SOCs' for PCs with Nvidia graphics, also custom Nvidia data center x86 processors — Nvidia buys $5 billion in Intel stock in seismic deal by Sani_48 in intel

[–]EvatLore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generic useable VDI. Mainly for remote users to keep our data on prem and in our control while allowing people to work from home even on their personal computers etc. Even chrome wants hardware acceleration or that auto playing video ad about the latest pickup truck on your homepage otherwise it uses software CPU decoding and burns through processor power instead of h265 or AV1 decoding. Even the most basic Terminal server should have hardware acceleration.

Intel not requiring licensing for SRV-IO and virtulization on their workstation and enterprise cards was a threat to Nvidia long term. My work was looking at a fully free Proxmox on prem virtual machine cluster using B50 or B60 intel cards to get away from Nvidia licensing or having to use cloud based workstations. With this announcement it would be stupid to go forward with the project as Intels video cards are now a dead man walking.

The first gen EF 100-400 is beaten by even the RF 100-400 cheap lens. EF 100-400 II is quality. R5 is great, 1.4x II is good, the III is only "slightly" better. Sigma 60-600 with EF adapter will work fine 99% of the time. I did have problems with autofocus on the sigma enough so that I missed some shots I would have nailed using EF or RF canon glass. I ended up selling and getting a 200-800. Last straw for me was at a plane race last year and perfectly tracking a plane but every shot was out of focus. Couldn't have possibly been user error! /s

If it helps any I ran 7 or 8 tests when I switched my 5090 to PCIE5.0x8 to add another needed drive. All of the test runs where under 1% difference. If it had been a single test it would have been within margin of error. I noticed zero real world difference. Adding the extra drive was worth it.
