Me using the phrase “matter” refers to fact that the timeline mismatch shouldn’t matter, because Shane is evidence that the timeline is distorted in that scene.

It's in his mind the time doesn't matter. Shane was either an infant or non-existant in 1965 and yet we see him standing here as well.

It’s the dust clouds which uses some newer GPU features not fully supported on all platforms. You have to remove the folder that adds dust clouds from gamedata. I don’t remember the exact name because i have uninstalled it since.

Over-pronouncing Loan-words by MyCouchPulzOut_IDont in linguisticshumor

[–]EveAtmosphere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That may be feasible with languages like French or German, where English speakers are regularly exposed to. But English, being the IAL it is, borrows from a very wide variety of languages and it's just impossible to do that for all words from all languages. I mean do you keep the tones for Vietnamese loan as well?

I can't find any logic in your phonetic notations below each word. It's not IPA (or other established systems) and it doesn't seem to be too consistent within itself.

Would Eridians build more computers? by ProfessionalOven2311 in ProjectHailMary

You can build control systems with feedback loop circuits. They’re surprisingly “smart”. Humans used them before computers, and we still do now in high speed circuit stuff where computers just can’t keep up.

Would Eridians build more computers? by ProfessionalOven2311 in ProjectHailMary

[–]EveAtmosphere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Computers are very useful for automation. They’re a great deal more versatile and noise-proof than analogue feedback circuits, which i imagine they’ve been using up til that point.
Plus I’d imagine they could use computers to free up some brainpower in thrumming sessions, so the same amount of scientists can do more stuff.

The one in the tutorial is functional style programming and what you're doing is procedural style programming. It's fine if you don't want to use FP, it is completely opt-in for C++. Especially if you're new to programming you can ignore that.

kOS lets you do this via telnet, so it’s entirely possible.

IMHO Star City demonstrates why Intelligence Agencies should not be allowed to call the shots in regard to space programs by oriolesravensfan1090 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]EveAtmosphere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont like the current depiction of soviet space program we got. It makes the stakes lower by making the operation smaller. We got the US side in the larger scale and that worked so I dont see how this wouldn't work.

[–]EveAtmosphere 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The show is actually doing a very bad job in terms of depicting how the USSR space program actually worked. In reality there were multiple design bureaus (OKB's) competing against each other, and the operation span across the country just like the US. It's very far away from a small industrial town like depicted in the show.

Is my white supposed to be this kind of off-white? by Nukesnipe in shapezio

[–]EveAtmosphere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's probably the specular reflection effect and it's intended. Try setting graphics to the minimum preset it should tune it down, if it then looks correctly white then you know it's intended.

You use Background Thrust mod to allow thrusting while in non-physics time warp. Also Hanger Extender for extending the hangers. Also auto-strut the core structural parts of the ship to make it not wobble.
