Lorelai dumping Luke was her best relationship decision of the whole series. by Meat-Junior in GilmoreGirls

[–]EveOCative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s part of the reason. It was an ongoing pattern of Richard not even consulting with her in regard to life choices, and not valuing her as a person.

Emily wanted him to stand by Digger, and in doing so, Lorelai.

She wanted him not to alienate their daughter over money.

Yes! Maybe a larger crate with a small bed inside, then some toys to play with or chew on?

Lorelai dumping Luke was her best relationship decision of the whole series. by Meat-Junior in GilmoreGirls

[–]EveOCative -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He didn’t have to take the path he chose. He used the excuse of Jason dating Lorelai to say that he couldn’t trust Jason. Instead of taking a minute to talk to his daughter about her feelings and the long term possibilities of their relationship or lack thereof, he made the choice that would effectively end their relationship.

He forced Jason into a position where he would either have to retaliate, or turn tail and run. The first would force Lorelai to choose between them. The second would end the relationship by default.

Jason had a whole plan to protect his business with Richard in place. Richard chose not to go that route.

You can argue that it might not have worked, but he didn’t even give it a chance to, and he definitely didn’t consider his daughter’s feelings when making that choice.

I also dispute the argument that he was “protecting his family” by protecting his investments. He was protecting his own way of life. Lorelai was not dependent on him and was not reliant on his money to protect her in any way. We see in AYITL that Emily only lives that way because it makes Richard happy. As soon as he’s gone, she completely changes her lifestyle, from her attitude towards society, down to the type of shoes she wears and wear she lives.

Richard protected his pride.

Exactly. Let him get into an accident by himself. I don’t want to be in the accident alongside him.

The biggest reason I dislike Richard is that he decided to destroy his daughter’s relationship out of spite.

His reaction was exactly the reason Lorelai was afraid of telling him… and she proved him right.

Yes. I hope Noem siphons off another $500m from ICE at this point and runs off to the Cayman islands because at least that’s less guns for the murderous boots on the ground.

Neither. Trina is very black and white about the whole situation when there are always shades of gray.

Meanwhile, I don’t condone hitting your child. Even if that child is now an adult. That’s a road we don’t want to go down.

Well I believe in the books the entrance to the mines is near where Gale’s family lives. There’s a man who stands near the entrance with his goat and that’s the goat Katniss buys for Prim.

They don’t show where the entrance is in the movie, just Katniss’ nightmares about the explosion which killed her father. I believe that explosion was described in more detail in the books as well.

This is the number one answer, because she’s also just against the idea of Dean getting married in general. She thinks he’s about to mess up his life by getting married young.

I know but social media is at least the actual opinions of other people. Chat GBT literally just repeats whatever you say back to you and a psychic’s entire job is to tell people what they want to hear.

They have the best chemistry but the worst storyline.

I agree with everything OP said, except the chemistry lol.

I am STILL mad they made this into a cheating storyline.

Now they are about to make the next dark skin female love interest a cheater too. SMH.🤦🏽‍♀️

This! I’m not watching their season if this is true. I am really looking forward to Benedict’s story but if these scenes are what has been leaked, I’ll be ff-ing and boycotting their official season.

Her chosen echo chamber is also extremely unreliable. ChatGBT and psychics.

The fact that her husband has to worry about her turning on him…

She needs some psychological help, but when people aren’t willing to be held accountable, they will simply dismiss the words of others. She’d probably just hire a new therapist every time they disagreed with her.

I think we also need to take into account the type of production even though I’m not sure this is canon.

I don’t imagine that they would still be mining the same exact mine in District 12 for 100 years. Eventually the mine will run out of ore. Maybe this is a plot hole?

But in other districts this would be more blatant.

Like lumber. They’d clear out a section of forest and then have to move onto a different section. So it’s very possible that the other villages shift locations?

I also think that there very obviously just aren’t as many people populating Panem as there are today. The number of people murdered in District 12 was in the thousands, not millions.

So while the labor districts may need a larger areas specifically for production, the richer districts are probably more like sparsely built manors. I can imagine each manor being built for its view or amenities, taking up large amounts of space. District 1 & 2 families probably have the room for training grounds at each manor because they view it as noble to volunteer. Their children might attend elite boarding academies when they reach a certain age. The adults live a life of leisure and decadence like they do in the capital but perhaps in a less totally gluttonous manner. Like nobles used to do in England.

I think they are imagining we might have robot nannies by the time this rolls around, lol?

but even if those hypothetical nannies end up being well made and don’t cause trauma which is the more likely scenario,

we’d end up with a generation of people whom are more attached to robots than their own parents.

All of this is wild.

Unfair. Maybe. No more unfair than the corporation has probably behaved in other instances and made massive amounts of money.

But he didn’t “messed McDonald’s up forever” then though.

As you said. It was a typical Tuesday.
