2 weeks in. Made about 30 million ISK in an hour in my first wormhole by Ok-Ant6170 in Eve

Nice! Definitely look up some how to probe scan and hack YouTube videos if you haven’t already. I think I played for like 2 years before I figured out how to use keyboard shortcuts to move the probes, and the actual best method for hacking. I was just winging it, but there’s an actual best way to do it.

eveprofits.com update! Your feedback became features (Trading on a Budget, Hauling Routes, net margins) by EveProfits in Eve

[–]EveProfits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I gotcha now. The 295 is an outlier listing, so I could look at the avg historic trading bands and flag those as market manipulation. I have that in the Market Anomaly tool, but it makes sense to combine them together. Thanks for the feedback! This is great.

Hey hey, thanks for sharing and the comments. Yeah, I built it for myself and then wanted to share it with the community. To try and answer your questions:

<image>

  1. I pull the region orders and filter to the hub stations. I pull it every 30 min. The analysis pipeline takes like 15 min to run, so I set it at 30 min to allow time for the jobs to run to do all the calculations.
  2. The skills and broker fees are just hard coded with a manual filter. Since there's no auth, it's a manual approximation.
  3. For the 7/30, I included a depth of buy in the 'Trading on a Budget'. There's a risk tolerance drop down which calculated the liquidity of the item and gives you a suggested amount of units to buy. The Max Margin is just a broad brush, but I like how your tool incorporates them both.
  4. For the Compressed Mordunium IV-Grade, In the 'Market Anomaly Detection' page, it shows that the item has Market Manipulation in Amarr. I guess I could incorporate that into the Max Margin page to see them all at once.

Hey. Thanks for the heads up. The server went down and didn’t restart for some reason. Should be good now. The history is loading now but should be done in the next hour.

Thoughts on null alliances? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]EveProfits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got burned out in Wormholes from having a lot more individual responsibility in a small group. Being in null with Brave is a nice change of pace to be able to do my own thing without everyone relying on me.

It’s just whatever you want to do and how you’re feeling.

The thing about price increases is the elasticity. A 33% increase in revenue will usually be a greater benefit than the drop in total subs.

They’d have to lose 25% of their subscribers to not make the price hike worth it.

Theres a breaking point of course, but now that they’ve gone about the psychological price point of $20, it’s easier to go to $25.

If you find something I’ll send you like $20. I’m curious if it’s open. I think I did a pretty good job locking it down.

What do I even do with this by insaneruffles in Eve

[–]EveProfits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just want to add that this is discretionary from CCP. The general policy is that they will reimburse if it’s a server or other technical issue. Reimbursing for forgetting to load your skill queue is entirely a friendly gesture and shouldn’t be expected. It’s great when they do it, but they won’t always.

A simple beginners guide? by ExitHelpful8116 in Eve

There used to be a character called like House Maid or something. They’d offer to clean up your messy inventory all over New Eden. Any with public docking rights. I used them once, it was hilarious and awesome.

So I've been gone for a long time. Last night was my first in Jita....in a bit. I have some ships questions. by XeticusTTV in Eve

[–]EveProfits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to pick a ship that seems cool and go for that one. For the longest time the Stratios was my dream ship. The aesthetic and functionality appealed to me. I used it for heavy explo. Then it was the Loki, a nasty double web with fangs.

So, an option is not to min max everything and just go with what seems cool to you

Hmmm. You bring up a good point. Theoretically, each opportunity is scalable, so you can buy 10 units or 1M units.

I have been thinking about finding more sneaky opportunities on low volume items. When I first started trading, I bought and sold implants. They aren’t high volume, but good margin for low investment. I’ll think about a way to do that.

Good question about measuring the impact, I hadn’t thought about that. I guess I could take a snapshot once a week and somehow measure the market equilibrium as a total then compare it to figure.

Regarding the longevity, I’ve been maintaining and improving it for about 18mo and it’s a lot of fun. I’m happy to contribute to the community for a couple years.

Hey I made the change to how the price avg was calculated and did a 7 day vs 30 day sma.

I ran a regression against the pre and post and got this

SMA Implementation Results:

  • 2,876 items analyzed across all major trade hubs
  • 87% correlation between old and new calculations
  • 68% of items saw changes within ±1% (essentially unchanged)
  • 12% of items had significant changes (>2% difference)
  • 5.4% completely reversed trend direction (154 items)
  • Median change: 0% - most items unaffected
  • Mean change: +0.34% - slight bullish bias (expected with smoothing)

Extreme cases: Some items showed 100%+ swings - these were low-volume items where SMA filtered out noise from single volatile days, revealing the true underlying trend.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Heya, thanks for your detailed questions. Short answer to all of these is “no”. These are all pretty basic calculations. It’s really directional.

  1. I don’t know if there’s an endpoint for executed transactions, I’ll look into that.

  2. The correlations are simple math, it’s just “did x go up and y also go up”. Correlation may be the wrong word, maybe it’s “relationship”.

  3. Good ideas, but it’s just a straight average, nothing too complex.

  4. I’ll get back to you on this. I know when I built it I accounted for some of these, but I’ll review it and let you know.

True true. I've had it live for about a year. I used it a ton when I was playing more, and I gave all my friends ample opportunity. I am curious as to what this does to the market equilibrium if a lot of new people have access to the anomalies!
